In a location like ours, it’s very easy for students to understand and believe the message in one of the Book Week winning picture books, Once I was a Giant. This winning text is about the importance of trees for human survival and follows the life of a tree and all it gives to nature before being logged.

On Monday our 5/6 students had some energy to burn, so off we headed to the bush for some time in the great outdoors. They built huts, picked flowers, built a new bridge across the growing creek we almost cannot jump, ran and walked and talked endlessly. They met new neighbours and worked tirelessly to speed Jai up, the slowest walker on Earth 🤣. No one could convince the Moama PS children that our bushlands aren’t worth protecting.

School transition - Visit 3 for Term 3

Our gorgeous, wriggly, super excitable preschoolers had another visit to Big School today.
It’s so wonderful to see our current 2026 Kindergarten (prep) students take such great care of our new students and equally as heartwarming to see our new preschoolers walk in each week more familiar with the environment, the staff and the routines.

See you all again next Tuesday 25th August for another transition to school session.

Congratulations to our athletics team who competed yesterday in Deniliquin at the district athletics carnival.
All of our students competed well and it was obvious the time and effort students put into training in preparation for the carnival.
Thank you to Mr Mundie and Sarah from Echuca Moama Run Club who worked with students over the last few weeks to further develop their fitness and technique.
Well done to all students and an extra special congrats to our students who made it to the next level and will be competing at the Riverina carnival in September.
An even bigger congrats goes out to Hayley who won age champ 🥇.

Well done to our netball teams who made the finals and played off in the grand final last week. Both teams played well, with one team walking away with the win.
Well done girls and a huge thanks to Ms Christensen for managing our teams.
