In a location like ours, it’s very easy for students to understand and believe the message in one of the Book Week winning picture books, Once I was a Giant. This winning text is about the importance of trees for human survival and follows the life of a tree and all it gives to nature before being logged.
On Monday our 5/6 students had some energy to burn, so off we headed to the bush for some time in the great outdoors. They built huts, picked flowers, built a new bridge across the growing creek we almost cannot jump, ran and walked and talked endlessly. They met new neighbours and worked tirelessly to speed Jai up, the slowest walker on Earth 🤣. No one could convince the Moama PS children that our bushlands aren’t worth protecting.
