✨ A Lasting Legacy of Mercy at St Patrick's ✨

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a talented member of our community helping to bring our Mercy story to life.

This beautiful mural of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, has been created by a local artist who is also a proud former St Patrick's student. To have an alumni return and leave such a meaningful and lasting mural for future generations is something truly special.

Our mural is rich in symbolism and beautifully reflects our Mercy Charism.

The vibrant shades of green surrounding Catherine McAuley represent growth, hope, renewal and life. This is reminding us that mercy is something that continues to flourish through our actions each day.

The golden halo reflects faith, wisdom and the light of God's presence guiding our community.

The roses represent love, compassion and beauty, values that sit at the heart of Mercy education.

Catherine McAuley is holding a rosary and cross, symbols of prayer, faith and service, reflecting her unwavering commitment to caring for those most in need.

Catherine's open hands extend a warm welcome to all. They remind us of our St Pat’s Mercy values that we strive to live every day: compassion, human dignity, integrity and excellence.

As students, staff and visitors pass this mural each day, may it serve as a powerful reminder of Catherine McAuley's vision: to respond with courage, kindness and mercy wherever we are called.

St Patricks Primary School Mural 💚💛

I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to paint this mural at St Patrick’s Primary School in Mitchell — my old primary school.

The mural features Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, brought to life in a stained-glass-inspired design using the school’s green and gold colours.

It’s pretty surreal getting to leave a little piece of my artwork somewhere that was such a big part of my own childhood.

A huge thank you to St Patrick’s for trusting me with this project and giving me the opportunity to create something for the school. 💚💛

📚🐻 Book Parade and Teddy Bear Picnic Tomorrow 🐻📚

The excitement is building, and we can't wait to see all of our wonderful book characters tomorrow.

Our Book Parade will still go ahead, rain or shine. If the weather is wet or the grounds are still damp, the parade and Teddy Bears' Picnic will be held in the Wattles classroom instead.

Bring along your favourite teddy, wear your fantastic costume, and join us for a fun-filled celebration of reading and imagination.
We look forward to sharing a wonderful day with our St Patrick's community. 💛📖

🎭 Roma & District Eisteddfod Workshops 🎭

Our students were incredibly fortunate to participate in the wonderful Roma & District Eisteddfod workshops, where they had the opportunity to learn, develop their skills and gain valuable experience from a talented presenter.

A huge thank you to Helen and the Roma & District Eisteddfod Committee for providing our school with these fantastic workshop opportunities. Your ongoing support of the arts and commitment to nurturing young performers is greatly appreciated.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and left feeling inspired, confident and excited to continue developing their talents.

Thank you once again for investing in our students and helping create such memorable learning experiences.

🧪🔬 National Science Week in Shamrocks! 🔬🧪

What an exciting week we had in Shamrocks celebrating National Science Week. Our students arrived dressed as scientists and science-themed characters, ready to explore, investigate and discover.

Throughout the week, students conducted a range of hands-on science investigations and experiments, making predictions, observing results and asking thoughtful questions. From exciting reactions to fascinating discoveries, our young scientists embraced every opportunity to learn through inquiry and exploration.

We are so proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity and scientific thinking. Well done, Shamrocks. 🌟👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

👖🧬 Jeans for Genes Day 🧬👖

Last week our school proudly supported Jeans for Genes Day, raising funds to help make a difference for children and families affected by genetic conditions.

A special thank you to Claudia for the wonderful cupcakes that added an extra touch of fun to the day. They were a huge hit with our students and staff.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our families for their generous donations and support. Your contributions help fund vital research and provide hope for a brighter future.

Together, we are making a difference, one pair of jeans and one donation at a time. Thank you for helping us support such an important cause.

🔬🧪 National Science Week in Wattles 🧪🔬

The Wattles class had an incredible time celebrating National Science Week. From the moment they arrived in their fantastic science-themed costumes, excitement was in the air as our young scientists prepared for a week of discovery and exploration.

Students participated in a variety of hands-on science experiments that sparked curiosity, encouraged questioning, and inspired creative thinking. From observing reactions and making predictions to testing ideas and sharing their discoveries, our learners embraced the wonder of science with enthusiasm and excitement.

A huge congratulations to all our Wattles students for their outstanding effort and creativity. We loved seeing the amazing range of costumes and the eagerness with which everyone engaged in the activities.

Well done, Wattles. You certainly showed that science is all about exploring, investigating, and having fun while learning.
