🎶🔥 A Mr Daniel Morning! 🔥🎶

It was a Mr Daniel morning yesterday, and he certainly had the children laughing! 😂

Mr Daniel shared a very funny story about a man called Daniel who accidentally set his beard on fire! 🔥🧔 As you can tell from the children’s responses, this was definitely one of the biggest highlights of the morning! He also shared a story about people panning for gold, along with plenty of singing, dancing and fun. 🎶💃✨

We asked the children what their favourite part of Mr Daniel’s visit was:

📚✨ BOOK WEEK ADVENTURES! ✨📚

Today was one of the most exciting days of the year, Book Week! 📖🎉

We put on our amazing costumes and made the big walk to St Patrick’s School to celebrate alongside them. The children were so excited on our walk, noticing lots of things throughout our community along the way. We even had plenty of people driving past admiring our fantastic costumes! 🥰

When we arrived, we were greeted by even more incredible costumes from the older children. We loved joining in and watching the Book Week parade, before heading upstairs with Miss Wodgant to enjoy a special teddy bear story. 🧸📚

After our big adventure, we made our way back to Kindy and enjoyed a great big play outside, the perfect way to let out all the excitement from such a wonderful morning! 🌿☀️

🧁 Cooking with Aunty Dessy & Our Kindy Café 🎶☕️

We had a very special cooking experience with Aunty Dessy! 👩‍🍳🧁 The children enjoyed making and decorating cupcakes before heading into our Kindy Café to share their creations with Aunty Dessy.

We also shared something very special with her today our new “Deans Footy Song”! 🏉🎶 We practised singing the song together with Aunty Dessy before enjoying cupcakes and milkshakes in our café.

The children were so excited to be involved, decorating their cupcakes with lots of colourful stickers and sharing their ideas about what they enjoyed most.

🌈🎶 Mainly Music with Miss Jess 🎀

What a fantastic Mainly Music session we had with Miss Jess!

🎶 We continued our exploration of colours, enjoying lots of singing, movement and fun together.

One of our favourite parts of today’s session was using our ribbon wands! 🎀 The children loved moving their ribbons along to the music and exploring different ways to dance and move.

🌿 A Visit from Aunty Dessy 💕🎨

Aunty Dessy came to visit us in the middle of our crow rescue mission! 🐦‍⬛ She helped us care for the crow while we found a box to keep it safe.

We also shared with Aunty Dessy about our special project of collecting treasures from our natural environment. 🌿🍂 We gave Aunty Dessy her very own treasure bag and helped her collect some beautiful natural treasures before she joined us for a special artwork experience. 🎨💕

🌟 Today Was a Mr Daniel Day! 🎶🐒🔥

Today was a Mr Daniel day, and we had so much fun playing his games at Kindy! We explored directions with a game called North, South, East, West, moving our bodies in each direction while listening carefully and following Mr Daniel’s directions. 🧭👣
Mr Daniel also told us another exciting story about Maui, this time learning about how Maui made fire. 🔥🌺 We loved listening, joining in with sounds and movements, and sharing our favourite parts of the story.

🐔 The results are in! 🐔

For those following along at home, the children at Mitchell EEC have officially named our chickens! 🥳

We had so many wonderful and creative name suggestions from our families and community. The children loved reading through all the ideas, and there were plenty of giggles and laughs as some of the funny and unique names were read aloud! 😂❤️

To make it fair, the children drew the winning names from a bowl, making the whole experience exciting and full of anticipation.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to send in a suggestion and be part of this fun community project. We can't wait to introduce you all to our newly named feathered friends! 🐓💛

What a wonderful Mainly Music day with Miss Jess! 🎶😊 The children were so excited to show off their cosy PJs 💤 and couldn't wait to join in all the singing, dancing and fun.

As we sang songs about farm animals 🐄🐑🐖, the children proudly told Miss Jess that we have real farm animals here at kindy! 🐐🌾 Miss Jess loved meeting our very special friend, Handsome Geoff, the baby goat, and the children were delighted to introduce him to her. 💚
