Despite the wintery, miserable weather, Mullauna’s year 8 boys team & year 7/8 girls team braved the persistent drizzle at today’s interschool Soccer round robin. The boys’ team progressed well through their first 2 matches, before they made their way into the grand final against Ashwood. Despite an early penalty goal to peg the score back to 3-1, Ashwood proved too strong & won convincingly.
Mullauna’s year 7/8 girls team only had 1 game for the day against Ashwood (the only other girls team in their pool) on a bog masquerading as a soccer pitch! Luna gave her all & did her best to link defence to attack, whilst Lianna was also impressive & was responsible for scoring the only goal of the game. Helena also came close to scoring another, but the mud & puddles had other ideas!
Special thanks to the year 10 student coaches; Zaden, Sorab, Ethan, Kaitlyn & Ruby for their help & guidance (& to Luna, Baran, Kaitlyn & Ruby for the photos!)

The year 8 girls netball teams showed a great attitude, despite the heavy rain. All teams had some success with our A1 team dominating every game, and making it through to the next round. A big thank you to year 10 student coaches Jen and Melody who were a great support to the teams!

A great week in the VM space week this week with the Year 11 s finishing their stint at Global Visionary Design sewing, creating and constructing and the Year 12 planting and mulching at Yarran Dherran Nature Reserve. Both groups showed excellent communication, collaboration and engagement with these activities. Both activities aim to prepare students for the skills needed for future workplaces and other real world activities.

Today, our Year 11 VCE-VM students delivered Health and Wellbeing Workshops to Year 8 students, sharing their knowledge and practical skills in the areas of physical fitness, nutrition, and mental wellbeing. Through a range of engaging, hands-on activities, the VCE-VM students demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork while helping younger students develop a greater understanding of healthy lifestyle choices. The workshops provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect across year levels and promote positive health and wellbeing throughout the school community. Well done VM students.
