We’re fired up for the Book Fair!

This week, some of our Grade 4 students took part in the ‘Creating change: social message making’ workshop at ACMI. Their collaboration, creativity and understanding of effectively sharing important social messages using media was incredible. We received terrific feedback from ACMI staff and we’re looking forward to getting back to ACMI soon. And look out for the cartoons at an upcoming assembly.

Our Grade 4s have been learning about how seasons occur and the impacts weather and climate have on places around earth, and where better to do than Scienceworks. Students had a blast! They were super engaged with so many different activities and seeing what they’ve been learning in class happening in practice.

Our 5/6 students have been working super hard at the pool this week for their swimming program. It’s been a great opportunity to learn survival skills, water safety and of course, to push out a few laps too.

Last week, our Grade 3s enjoyed a terrific day at the NGV. They discovered incredible artworks, thought deeply about colour, creativity and storytelling. Our students represented APPS with distinction and the NGV staff told us they were a delight to have at the gallery.

100 Days of Foundation! What an achievement and what an epic day of fun! Our Foundation student had a wonderful time celebration their 100th day in style with so many great activities. The biggest thanks goes out to the families and their teachers… we know you’ve done an incredible job getting these kids to where they’re at.

Our Grade 1s enjoyed a terrific day out at Bundoora Park Farm this week. They learned all about life during Australia’s colonial era and explored change takes place over time and how our history should be preserved.

Today our 5/6 Hoop Time teams enjoyed a sensational day of basketball. That famous APPS team spirit, competitiveness and sportspersonship was on show all day. We had teams in the Grand Final in all divisions we entered and won one! A huge thank you too all our parents who helped coach our teams! The feedback we received was awesome!

A huge thanks goes out to our community for supporting Eastern Food Rescue by donating food and other non-perishables this past fortnight. What an incredible showing!

Last week, our Grade 3 & 4 Green Team members planted trees in Antonio Park with the Antonio Park Advisory Committee for Tree Planting Day. They planted plenty of trees and learned a lot about the importance of looking after our natural environment.
