Windy Wonderland!🌬

Fully embracing the shifting windy conditions of Waring season, little galahs chased rainbow bubbles as the wind took them in all different directions!

We crafted 'wind sticks' to show us which way the wind was blowing, and experimented with blowing on small leaves and grains of sand, to mimic how wind moves things around us. We stopped to look up at the canopy swaying in the breeze, falling dancing leaves, and little gumnuts dropping around us.

A morning in the company of chattering rainbow lorikeets, gentle gum trees swaying in the breeze, and ripples in ponds.

We took a big bush walk using all 5 senses, stopping to look, touch, smell, listen and taste (just our snacks).
We came back together to create a mini world of Yarran Dheran just as we had seen on our walk - rocks, trees, fallen tree trunks and creeks, all from the natural parts around us.
We sprayed colour on white sheets flapping in the wind, to represent Bunjil's wings as we chatted about the stories of the creation spirit.

Connecting, creating memories, and community building!

Reconciliation and respect - All in.

Little galahs spent the morning sitting in a circle, learning Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung words for all the natural elements we enjoy each week.

We discussed the Aboriginal Flag colours then came together to paint pieces of bark and leaves in red, yellow, and black - putting them together to create a special flag.

We mushroom spotted, built stick forts, and splashed merrily in the creek. What better way to connect with country, in this week of recognition and reconciliation.

A BEE-utiful day to BEE! 🐝

For Bee Day, we painted ourselves in bees and flowers while talking about how pollination works.
We played many games - transferring pollen, working as a team, and doing anything the Queen Bee asked - what fun!

We read a great little book about Aussie bees, and took a nice long walk in the bush looking for clues any pollinators may have left behind.

A morning for the little galahs to stop and notice the little things.🔍

To celebrate David Attenborough's 100th birthday 🎂 we used him as our inspiration - encouraging us all to really pay attention, and narrate what we see. Sticky sap, interesting insects, shiny little webs.. we built vocabulary and our observation skills in nature.

We made nature paintbrushes with sticks and leaves, using them to paint a special birthday banner for , and chatted about his life and legacy.

LG is FOUR!

THIS IS US.
Every session, curated by two mothers who care just as much as you do;
about connection, about making meaningful memories, about creating early and varied ties with nature.

We're celebrating 4 years of building this beautiful community - that's about 150 incredible sessions, over 100 happy families, and an immeasurable amount of confidence building, creativity, and funny surprises from each little galah we meet!

We are immensely grateful for all your support and for the privilege of playing in nature with your families.

A morning for the mamas!

We designed beautiful terracotta pots and planted a gorgeous bloom each, a gift each little galah could enjoy with their mothers and special persons for weeks to come!

Our bush walk inspired log balancing tricks, monkey rescues, and foraging behaviours. We pretended to be little birds responding to our mother birds' special call 🐦

A time for connection, fun and learning...while celebrating the mothers and mother figures in our lives.

Frog Field Day!

Fine motor skills were tested as little hands fed little bugs to some hungry frogs!
Those same little hands explored sensory small worlds of frogs in cool jelly and frog spawn.

Gross motor skills also got a turn, with big yoga moves from Ten Yoga Frogs, as we each tried our best at some tricky poses.

We chatted about frog diets, life cycles, and habitats - all of which we witnessed on an immersive bush walk in the sunshine.

Swipe through for the cutest frogs and hops 🐸

An Egg-celent End of Term!

All things eggs! We learned about oviparous animals...shouting out all the different animals we knew that hatch from eggs.

Then we went on an egg hunt, finding special eggs in the bush - each had an animal inside. We pretended to be all these animals one by one, what fun!
We searched for nests on our bush walk and spotted a majestic tawny frogmouth in the trees!

We collaborated on building a large nest together, then went about making our own nests, softening with leaves and creating colourful eggs to place in gently.

We cannot wait for more adventures in Term 2! Bookings are now live on the website, get in quick to avoid disappointment 💚
