Our Year 2 students have been enthusiastically engaging in Talk4Writing as they explored The Deep Dark Wood. Using story maps, actions, and visual prompts, students worked together to orally rehearse the text, developing their confidence, vocabulary, and understanding of story structure.
The classroom was buzzing with excitement as students actively participated in discussions, predicted what might happen next, and used expressive language to retell the story. This interactive approach encourages every child to become a confident storyteller and writer by allowing them to internalise language before putting pen to paper.
It was wonderful to see students so engaged, supporting one another and building their oral language skills through collaboration and creativity. We look forward to seeing these ideas come to life in their own imaginative writing over the coming weeks!
