Minto Playgroup is here! 🎉

Looking for a fun and friendly place to bring the little ones? Why not come along to our FREE Minto Playgroup! 🌈

A relaxed morning for kids to play, create, explore and make friends, while mums and carers can meet, chat and connect with other local families. 💕

🦋 We’re back into the swing of things at playgroup!

Recently, our little artists got creative with mosaic butterflies, using colourful paper pieces and glue to decorate their templates. 🌈🎨

There was a lot of concentration, creativity, and plenty of beautiful masterpieces taking shape!

We love seeing the different ways each child brings their own ideas to the activity. 💛

🌸 Community Spotlight: Macarthur Women’s Health Centre 🌸

This week, we’re proud to give a shout-out to the wonderful Macarthur Women's Health Centre! 💜

If you’re looking for support, new friendships, or a welcoming place to learn, connect and grow, the Centre offers a wide range of services and programs for women in our community.

These include:

✨ Gentle exercise programs

🌲Budding artists celebrate National Tree Week🎨

Our Mount Annan and Minto Playgroups have returned, and the children celebrated with rollers, paintbrushes and dotters.

There were cars, dolls and bubbles to get creative with, and our mums and kids enjoyed delicious fresh watermelons, apples, bananas and strawberries.

We loved welcoming some new families.

This is Rose, and here's why she joined us.

"Hello everyone! 😊

I’m Rose, and I’m excited to be joining the team as a Family Worker!

I’m looking forward to connecting with children, young people, and families in our community and supporting them through early intervention and playgroups.

I’m passionate about listening to people’s stories, building genuine connections and trust, and helping families access the support they need to create positive outcomes for their young people.

My background is in juvenile justice and youth work, which has allowed me to work alongside some incredible people and families.

I’m excited to bring that experience, along with my passion for supporting others, into this new role. 💛

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me training with the NSW Rural Fire Service, playing with my kelpie, Mando, or watching a good true crime documentary!

I also love spending quality time with my partner, family and friends.

I can't wait to begin this journey with Disability Macarthur - family support & care and get to know the wonderful people in our community.

We are back into the swing of things for term 3 with our playgroups returning on:

Monday 27th July at Mount Annan at Birriwa Community Hall from 10am-11:30am

Tuesday 28th July at Disability Macarthur: 4-6 Surrey St Minto from 10am-11:30am

Playgroups are FREE, and fresh fruit is provided.

Come and join the fun and see what activities we have planned.

In addition to our playgroups, we offer parental support, kids' educational activities, counselling and more.

Are the kids bored already? 😧😂

This easy no-cook playdough recipe is the perfect way to spark creativity, imagination, and hours of hands-on fun. And there's no cooking required. 🎉

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup salt
2 Tablespoons cream of tartar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/4 cups boiling water
Food colouring (optional)

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt and cream of tartar.
Add the vegetable oil and boiling water, and using a spatula, mix until combined. Once it’s cool enough to handle, use your hands to knead the playdough in the bowl until it becomes smooth, about 2 minutes. (It may appear wet at first, but it will dry as you knead and the water gets fully absorbed.)
Turn the playdough onto your work surface and knead it until it is smooth, about 2 minutes.
Use the homemade playdough as is, or if desired, colour with food colouring of your choice. (If using food colouring, it’s best to use gloves.)

Enjoy with your little ones. 🎉

❄️ School Holiday Fun ❄️

While we will be busy planning our playgroup activities for next term, we would like to give a huge shoutout to Campbelltown City Council, NSW, who are hosting their annual Chillfest from July 3rd to 19th at Koshiguya Park. ⛸️☃️🎉

We really appreciate them organising 'quiet' sessions where adults, young people, and children with disabilities can enjoy the excitement of Chillfest without the crowds, noise, or overstimulation.

✨ New families welcome at our free playgroups ✨

This week, our little artists had a wonderful time exploring dot painting.

Through experimenting with colours, patterns, and designs, they expressed their creativity and imagination.

Activities like this help develop important early learning skills, including fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and confidence.

It was lovely to see each child’s personality and creativity shine through. 💛

As we wrap up Term 2, we’d like to thank all the families who joined us this term.

If you’re a mum, grandparent, or carer looking for a welcoming space to connect with other local families, we’d love to see you in Term 3.
