Shuttle Alley has had an upgrade!

Our new signs are up and have given the area a fresh new look. It’s great to see plenty of locals and visitors stopping in, having a look around and learning more about agriculture in the Mingenew region.

The 2026 MIG Spring Field Day agenda is here! 🌾

Join us on Wednesday 2 September for a full day of research, industry updates, trial visits and demonstrations across our Mingenew sites.

The day will kick off at the Mingenew Recreation Centre, before heading out to see a range of sessions including NVTs, nitrogen timing, long coleoptile wheat, spray technology, grass control strategies and more.

Dongara Community Resource Centre is hosting a Sheep and Goat Electronic Identification (eID) Workshop to help local producers understand and prepare for the transition to mandatory eID requirements for sheep and goats.

As eID tagging and NLIS movement recording became mandatory from 1 July 2026, we are working with producers and small land managers across the region to ensure they have access to practical information, demonstrations and support. DPIRD will be hosting an eID workshop at the Dongara CRC in August.

Workshop Details:

Date: Wednesday, 12 August 2026
Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm, followed by Q&A
Location: Dongara CRC, 11 Moreton Terrace, Dongara
Cost: Free
Morning tea provided

The final addition to our Business of Farming Day speaker lineup is Tessa Eagleham!

Tessa will be presenting '5 People Practices Every Farm Business Should Have in Place.'

As farm businesses continue to grow and employ more people, having the right systems and processes in place is essential.

Topics include:
Practice 1: Correct classification and documentation
Practice 2: Payroll accuracy and super compliance
Practice 3: Leave entitlements tracked and managed
Practice 4: Performance, conduct and termination handled fairly (including probation and hiring right)
Practice 5: WHS systems in place

From employment obligations to workplace health and safety, this session will provide takeaways that every farm business can put into practice.
