π±π¬ SCIENCE WEEK β SEED EXPLORATION π¬π±
Today our little scientists explored the wonderful world of seeds and growing!
The children had the opportunity to look closely at a variety of seeds including peas, carrots and other vegetables. They explored the different sizes, shapes, colours and textures, using their senses to investigate and compare what they discovered.
We talked about where our food comes from and what seeds need to grow, including soil, water, sunlight and lots of care. π±βοΈπ§
Experiences like this encourage children to ask questions, make predictions, investigate and develop an understanding of the natural world around them.
Learning & Development:
π± Builds curiosity and early scientific thinking
π± Develops observation and investigation skills
π± Encourages language and new vocabulary
π± Supports sensory exploration and fine motor development
π± Teaches children about plants, food and caring for our environment
π± Encourages children to predict what might happen next
EYLF Outcomes:
π Outcome 2 β Children are connected with and contribute to their world
π Outcome 4 β Children are confident and involved learners
π Outcome 5 β Children are effective communicators
Now we get to watch, wait and see what happens next! π±π
