During National Reconciliation Week (27th May to 3rd June), our college community embraced this year's theme, "All In", a powerful call for all Australians to commit to reconciliation through everyday actions and shared responsibility. Students participated in First Nations sports, boomerang painting, and trivia activities, providing opportunities to learn about and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories.

On Wednesday 13th May, Year 11 English students attended a production workshop of the play 12 Angry Men at the Performing Arts Centre on our Middle Years Campus. It was a very powerful performance, with highly skilled actors.
As part of this workshop, students engaged with the actors while they performed key scenes from the text. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to gain an understanding of key ideas, concerns and values in the play, as well as how the same scene can be interpreted differently depending on the directors vision.
Well done to all Year 11 students who attended!
Last week our VET Dance students completed their mock audition assessment with guest teacher A big thank you to Hara for sharing her industry knowledge with our students! 💃

English Language Centre students were lucky to have Favel Parrett, an Australian author entertain them with stories of the Dingo Wandi. Students are currently studying Wandi in their class in order to develop their English reading and writing skills and learn about Dingo conservation.
Favel talked of her own experiences of writing and how it sometimes took 10 drafts before she would get the chapter right. She talked of the importance of just writing and getting ideas down and then working on details. She told stories of Wandi travelling with her in the car back to Wandiligong and wanting to sit on her lap for hours rather than his crate. He has a love of apples too. It was here in the Victorian mountains where he was dropped by a wedge tailed eagle as a cub.
She showed pictures of him as he grew up at the Dingo Discovery Centre, and even pictures of his whole family. She talked of the importance of understanding how Dingoes are threatened by humans, especially on the East Coast of Australia. They are often misunderstood as dogs.
The ELC students asked questions to learn more about Favel as a writer and the uniqueness of Dingos. Yusheng gave a short speech and offered her flowers. The students are nearly finished the novel and were enthused by her visit. Ms.Philip, Ms.Pour and Ms.Pan were also supportive of the visit and came to listen today.
