🎭 Year 11 Drama – “Selfie” Performance 🎭
Last Thursday (Week 5), our Year 11 Drama students brought the Recital Room stage to life with their powerful performance of Selfie by Bradley Hayward.
The story followed eight students on their final first day of school—an experience that quickly unfolded into something far deeper and more unexpected than any of them anticipated. Through honest and heartfelt moments, the audience was invited into conversations about belonging, supporting friends through difficult times, and recognising that we rarely see the full picture of someone else’s life.
Each character’s journey was interwoven with the “selfies” they shared with the world—some lighthearted, others with far-reaching consequences. As the year progressed, the group faced the devastating loss of a classmate, ultimately coming together in reflection with the powerful reminder that “right now is enough” and “best of all, they aren’t alone.”
We received so many wonderful comments about this moving and thought-provoking performance. I am incredibly proud of how each student approached these complex themes with maturity, empathy, and courage.

🏆 SSSA Champions 🏆

Congratulations to our Year 7/8 Boys Basketball Team, who today claimed the SSSA Division 3 Championship, finishing on top of a 30-team competition.

After holding their composure and executing well to secure two thrilling 1-point wins in tightly contested pool games, the boys found their rhythm and finished the day with two 30+ point wins, including a dominant Grand Final performance.

This result is a credit to the commitment and passion shown by the group, training multiple times each week over the past 10 weeks. We are incredibly proud of the way the boys represented the school and each other throughout the tournament, with their talent, discipline, teamwork and resilience on full display.

Amazing work, boys! So happy for you all.

Adelaide Choral Eisteddfod

On Thursday 11th June, SSAA Vocal and Temple Connection competed in the Adelaide Eisteddfod (Choral Division) held at Elder Hall.

Both groups delivered outstanding performances, featuring acapella arrangements that took advantage of the beautiful resonance within the historic location.

Excitingly, both groups received outstanding scores for their performances, with SSAA Vocal taking 1st place with a score of 98 (vocal ensemble division), and Connection receiving an honourable mention with a score of 96 (small choir division). Congratulations to these groups on their hard work and we hope to be involved again in the future.

INTERHOUSE MUSIC COMPETITION

On Thursday 28th June we held our Interhouse Music Competition in the Shed space. Senior music students have been working with members of their houses to put together arrangements to perform to the school and in front of a panel of judges. Each house presented their mashup of songs with energy and enthusiasm, but in the end, East secured first place, with classics like ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’. Congratulations to all who were involved- we look forward to seeing what the houses come up with next year!

What an incredible week for Temple Christian College! Our students competed against 8 schools across 6 sports, showing outstanding courage, teamwork, and resilience — finishing an impressive 3rd overall 👏

🥇 Champions: Girls Volleyball, Boys Soccer, Boys & Girls Table Tennis
🥈 Boys Volleyball (Runners-up)
Strong performances across all sports with multiple MVPs recognised

⚽ A special moment saw our Boys Soccer team win in dramatic penalty shootouts, showcasing composure under pressure.
🔥 Huge shoutout to Layla, who earned MVP in THREE sports, and to Layla & Gracie for making history by competing in all six sports!
Beyond results, the team spirit, sportsmanship, and school pride on display made this a truly unforgettable Rijken Cup.
👏 Well done to all students and coaches — bring on Rijken Cup 2027! 💪

Yesterday, our SSSA Year 7/8 Boys Knockout Basketball Team delivered two excellent performances in Round 1, recording impressive victories by 137 points and 70 points to secure their place in the Finals at the State Basketball Centre in two weeks’ time.

The boys’ commitment to training, support for one another, and high level of ability were evident throughout both games. We look forward to seeing how they perform in the finals. Fantastic job, boys!

🚴‍♀️🏁 Temple Pedal Prix – Round 2 Highlights 🏁🚴‍♂️
Our Temple Pedal Prix Racing Team had an outstanding day at the Bend 6 Hour (23 May 2026)! With 6 trikes and 44 riders, supported by a community of around 140 people, it was a true team effort.

✨ Top Results:
🥉 Thunderbird 4 (All-Female Middle School) – 3rd place in their first race! Already aiming for 1st next time 💪
🥉 Thunderbird 6 (Senior Boys) – 3rd place in a strong field
⚡ Alexander narrowly missed fastest lap by just 0.565 seconds

🚴 Across all teams: 389 laps (1,089 km) in one day — an incredible achievement!

👏 Special mention to Elijah for outstanding safety awareness, earning the honour of waving the chequered flag at the finish.
