The research is clear 📚 reading aloud is one of the most powerful things we can do for our children.

When we read with a child, we’re doing far more than sharing a story. We’re building the foundations for language, confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Decades of research shows that children who are read to regularly:

💛 Build stronger language skills
Hearing rich varied language in books exposes children to far more words than everyday conversation alone. This growing vocabulary helps them understand, communicate and make sense of the world.

💛 Develop early literacy skills long before they learn to read
Through stories, children learn how books work – that print carries meaning, that pages turn left to right, and that stories have a beginning, middle and end. These early understandings make learning to read feel familiar and exciting.

💛 Strengthen phonological awareness
Rhymes, rhythms and playful sounds help children hear the building blocks of language.

💛 Grow their comprehension and thinking skills
Talking together about a story, predicting what might happen, wondering how a character feels, and connecting events to real life helps children develop memory, problem-solving, and higher-order thinking.

What an exciting afternoon we had at our centre as colourful hot air balloons floated overhead! 🎈✨

The children were absolutely thrilled to watch them drift across the sky. It was the perfect opportunity to spark curiosity and explore STEAM learning, discovering how hot air balloons work, what helps them fly, and the science behind staying in the air.

For two decades, Rhonda has made a lasting difference in the lives of so many children, families and colleagues through her kindness, dedication and unwavering commitment to early learning. Her passion for supporting children to grow, learn and thrive has left a positive impact on generations of families in our community.

🚒🔥 Learning All About Fire Safety! 🔥🚒

Our Toddler Space has been busy learning all about Fire Safety and what to do in an emergency. 🧯👨‍🚒

A very big thank you to Mildura Fire Brigade for visiting our centre and sharing their knowledge with our children.

The children loved learning about the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe, and they were especially excited to have the opportunity to explore the fire truck up close! 🚒✨

Experiences like these help build children's understanding of safety, community helpers, and the important work that emergency services do every day. 👨‍🚒🌟

Thank you again to the firefighters for taking the time to visit us and create such a memorable and educational experience for our children. 🚒🧯✨
