💛 Body Safety Australia at Kindergarten 💛

The week beginning the 20th of July De Garis kindergarten participated in the Body Safety Australia program! Our educators completed professional development to build their knowledge and confidence in supporting children with body safety and respectful relationships.

Our 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten groups have engaged in age-appropriate sessions, learning about their bodies, personal boundaries, feelings, safe choices and speaking to trusted adults.

We also held a Parent Information Night, giving families helpful information and strategies to continue these important conversations at home.

Together, we are helping our children build the knowledge, confidence and skills to feel safe, heard and empowered. 💛🌿

Body Safety Australia

The first week back of term 3 was a wonderful celebration of NAIDOC Week, filled with meaningful learning experiences that honoured and celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

Our children enjoyed a range of hands-on activities, including face painting, boomerang painting, creating Australian animal keychains, Aboriginal sand art, traditional dancing, listening to Cal play the didgeridoo, and gathering to hear Aunty Colleen share her beautiful Emu Story.

These experiences provided opportunities for the children to learn, connect, and celebrate the rich history and culture of Australia's First Nations peoples.

A huge thank you to Connected Beginnings and MDAS for being part of this special celebration and helping create such a memorable experience for our children. ❤️🖤💛

Connected Beginnings Mildura and Mildura Rural City Council warmly invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to join us for a FREE fun and informative morning focused on supporting your child's early learning and development.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with local services that can help your child take their first steps into learning and give them the best possible start in life.

A massive Thankyou to Inspirations Paint Mildura for kindly donating a 4L tin of stain to finish off our new mud kitchen for our sandpit area. We are so grateful, it looks amazing and the children are absolutely loving it 🙂

Parents and guardians looking to register their children for kindergarten next year can do so through a central registration process.

Registrations for first-round places close on 31 July. Registrations will still be accepted and collated after this date.
