This chapter is gently coming to an end ❤️
I want to thank every family who supported Nurture with Nik. It’s been an honour to walk alongside you during your sleep journeys and witness your growth, resilience, and love.
Thank you for allowing me to do this work — it has meant more than I can express.

As new mums, we put so much pressure on ourselves to breastfeed. And for those who can’t — or choose not to — it can come with so much guilt.
Let’s be clear: you’re not failing.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again — a fed baby is a healthy baby, whether it’s breast or bottle. 💛
But for the mums who do choose to breastfeed — once your baby turns one, why does the judgment suddenly shift to:
➡️ “You’re still feeding?”
➡️ “Isn’t it time to wean?”
Let’s unpack that. Here are some of benefits of breastfeeding beyond one:
✨ Why Prolonged Breastfeeding Matters:
Ongoing immune support (antibodies don’t stop at 12 months!)
Emotional comfort during big toddler transitions
Continued nutritional value — fat, protein, vitamins, still there
Supports brain development and emotional regulation
Eases moments of teething, sickness, and separation anxiety
And for mums:
Breastfeeding continues to release oxytocin — supporting bonding and emotional well-being
It’s a peaceful, familiar way to reconnect
You’re able to let your child wean naturally, in their own time
Every journey is valid. Every decision deserves support.
And if you’re still nursing past one — you’re doing something incredible 🥰

Happy World Breastfeeding Week! Here is a picture of me when my bub Elle was 6 months old and I had an accident resulting in a fractured elbow and fractured wrist as well as a torn ligament. Breastfeeding using only one arm proved its challenges in the early days my husband had to help me get Elle into the right position to help her latch on. Eventually she learned how to climb up and latch on. Getting Elle up off the floor or out of the cot to feed during the day and night was also something I needed help with and had many nights of late night feeding with hubby sleeping on the floor and waiting for me to finish to help pop elle back to bed. Although this proved many challenges and the easy thing would be to stop breastfeeding and change to formula. I chose to continue for me. Luckily Breastfeeding was something that came easy for us, once we got the hang of it I really loved it. When I broke my arm I lost control of so many things in my life I needed help showering in the early days, dressing, I couldn’t drive or even put elle in her car seat to go anywhere! So continuing breastfeeding was something I was somewhat still in control of and made me feel good.
At the end of the day a well feed baby is a happy and healthy baby! Whether it be via breastfeeding for formula feeding. Do whatever makes you happy, at the end of the day YOU MATTER ❤️

My almost 4 year old daughter asked me where does my boobie milk come from while feeding my 13 month old. She asked if I had little chefs in my belly making the milk for me 🥰
I am very grateful to be able to share these precious moments with my little ones.

Mums supporting mums. 💛
There’s nothing more powerful.
Not in a “have-it-all-together” kind of way.
But in the quiet, honest moments.
The “I see you.”
The “Me too.”
The “You’re doing amazing, even if it doesn’t feel like it today.”
Motherhood is messy, magical, and exhausting — and it’s not meant to be done alone.
That’s why Nurture with Nik isn’t just about sleep.
It’s about support.
It’s about being part of your village when yours feels far away.
Whether you’re sleep-deprived, overwhelmed, or just need someone to say “you’ve got this” — I’m here. 💛
Let’s find your rhythm. Let’s make sleep feel doable again.

There is no such thing as a perfect parent.
But there is you - the one who tucks them in, wipes the tears and whispers “I’m here.”
You are enough, exactly as you are. 💛
From one mamma to another, you’ve got this!

🌙 Conquering the 4-Month Sleep Regression 🌙
Calling all tired parents! Brace yourselves for the infamous 4-month sleep regression that's about to shake up your nights. But fear not, because I've got your back with some tips to help you navigate this bumpy ride:
🌻 It's Normal, Hang in There: Remember, the 4-month sleep regression is a common milestone where your little one's sleep patterns undergo changes. Stay patient and remember that this too shall pass!
🌻 Create a Soothing Environment: Ensure your baby's sleep space is calm, cozy, and free from distractions. Create a dark sleep space, use a white noise machine, and establish a consistent bedtime routine to help them wind down.
🌻 Teach your baby to self settle and resettle them self.
🌻 Encourage Daytime Naps: Promote healthy sleep habits by providing regular daytime naps. This helps prevent over-tiredness, which can worsen nighttime sleep disruptions.
🌻 Stay Consistent: Stick to a consistent sleep schedule and bedtime routine. Consistency is key in helping your baby adjust to the changes and establish a predictable sleep pattern.
🌻 Lean on Your Support System: Don't hesitate to seek support from your partner, family, or friends. Sharing the challenges and joys of parenthood can make the journey a little easier.
🌻 Take Care of Yourself: Remember to prioritise self-care. Get enough rest, eat well, and ask for help when needed. A well-rested parent is better equipped to handle the sleep regression with grace.
You're not alone in this! Stay strong, stay patient, and soon you'll emerge victorious, with peaceful nights and rested smiles.
