FLASHBACK to our Nothin’ But 90s Bingo & Trivia Night on Friday 7 August 🎤💿

What an epic night filled with throwback tunes, musical bingo, trivia, air guitar battles and plenty of 90s nostalgia! Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered their time and donated prizes. Your support helped make this P&F community event such a success.

Congratulations to all of our trivia and raffle winners👏 It was lovely to see our school community come together for a fun-filled evening and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Angelico Art Exhibition 🖌🎨

We are delighted to share that several of our students’ artworks were selected to feature as part of the prestigious Angelico Art Exhibition.

Special congratulations to one of our students, whose artwork Shades of Grey received a Highly Commended Award in the Years 10–12 2D, 3D and Drawing category. With two artworks selected, this is a wonderful recognition of her creativity and commitment to developing her skills through the La Salle Visual Arts Program. 👏

The exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for young artists to showcase their work, and we are incredibly proud of our students' achievements!

Gold for Alex at WorldSkills WA! 🌟

Congratulations to Alex H (Year 10), who has been awarded Gold in the 2026 WorldSkills WA Regional VETiS Wall & Floor Tiling Competition.

This is a significant achievement and recognition of Alex's outstanding craftsmanship. This also means he can be considered to represent WA at the WorldSkills Australia National Competition in June next year.

This is a fantastic example of the opportunities available through a VET pathway and the incredible skills our students are developing for the future.

Alex will be presented with his medal at a special awards ceremony at Crown Perth in December. Congratulations, Alex 👏

Our Year 12 Drama students have been taking The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time to life through dynamic, highly physical performances and complete creative ownership.

A special highlight was working one-on-one with College ICT Manager Mr Massang, who provided students with hands-on experience with industry standard sound and lighting equipment.

Science Week has commenced with some fun, hands-on activities! Our students got creative with pot decorating and planted their own seeds to take home. 🪴🌱

This year’s theme is “Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All”, celebrating curiosity, discovery and the many ways science helps us to understand and shape the world around us.

During the week there will be more exciting activities, including trivia quizzes, sound quizzes and more during lunchtime.

La Salle Brass Musicians 🎺👏

Under the guidance of Ms Skilton, our students took to the stage at Trinity College last Thursday for the Education WA Performing Arts Festival Brass Ensembles section showcasing their powerful sound, precision and teamwork.

It was a great learning opportunity for our students to perform for an adjudicator, hear ensembles from other schools and represent La Salle College.

Well done to all our brass musicians and a huge thank you to Ms Skilton for her encouragement and dedication! 💙🎺

Last week, we celebrated Languages Week 🌏💬🗣️

A great opportunity to highlight the importance of learning another language and embracing the rich cultural diversity of our school community.

During the week, students and staff participate in PCG Kahoot! table tennis and created poster boards in the Senior Learning Centre and iCentre to promote languages and cultural diversity.

Our Staff vs Students Indoor Soccer Match did not disappoint with a thrilling 2 v 2 draw, with staff eventually claiming victory in a penalty shoot-out. Throughout the match we shared words of encouragement from around the world, saying "In bocca al lupo!" (Good luck in Italian)" and "Kōun o! (Good luck in Japanese)".

The Language Week celebrations continued with lunchtime treats - delicious Italian gelati and Japanese mochi ice cream and on Friday our Canteen staff served up an international food menu, giving our school community the opportunity to enjoy flavours from around the world.

Last Wednesday (5 August) the College held its Semester One Academic Assembly to celebrate the outstanding achievements, leadership and talents of our students.

Awards were presented to students for:
⭐ Academic excellence, outstanding application and exemplary behaviour
⭐ College Colours - Achievements in Academic, Faith & Service, Leadership, Sport and Culture
⭐Excellence Commendations - Outstanding commitment to learning service and College values.

Class of 2007 alumna Ms Tara Simich, founder of The Jungle Body and Mermade Hair was a special guest speaker and spoke to students about her time as College Captain, and her early indication of the leadership, determination, and character that would become prominent in her career. Tara shared her inspiring journey from La Salle College student to internationally successful entrepreneur encouraging all students to pursue their goals with fearlessness, resilience and determination.

We are grateful to Tara and invited families for joining us at our Academic Assembly. The morning was a memorable celebration of excellence within our College community.

Percussion Ensembles | Catholic Performing Arts Festival 🎵🥁

Last Thursday our General Percussion Ensemble and Senior Percussion Ensemble proudly represented La Salle College performing at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival at Trinity College.

Under the direction of Ms Mercedes Slack-Smith, both ensembles delivered energetic and engaging performances, showcasing the rhythm, precision and teamwork developed through months of dedicated rehearsal 👏

Congratulations to all of our percussionists on their outstanding music efforts and the professionalism they displayed throughout the day.
