Quality kindergarten program | Caring community | Christian values. Awarded an EXCEEDING Rating under the National Quality Framework.
At Centenary Christian Kindergarten, we provide your child with a safe, secure and supportive learning environment. Our program stimulates young minds to think independently and promote their own learning. It fosters creativity, challenges thought processes, and supports co-operative learning. We address the needs, interests and abilities of each child and recognise them as the unique individuals
that they are. Philosophy & Mission Statement
Our Centre seeks to facilitate the total development of the individual child in relation to God, His world, and each other according to their own abilities, needs and interests, together with support, guidance and encouragement for families. Belief Statement
To achieve our mission we believe it is necessary to:
● Provide stable and caring Christian staff who model love, patience and forgiveness in their dealings with children and each other
● Provide a pleasant and safe educational setting, which supports enjoyable and successful learning processes
● Provide for growth and instruction in all areas so as to develop the cognitive, social, spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of each individual child
● Co-operate with, support and assist the families of children in our care, realising that home and family are the most important educative and nurturing body
● Actively promote a positive self-image in each child as a person important and valuable as a child of a loving God
● Recognise that each child brings a rich variety of cultural and social backgrounds and experiences
● Help each child to understand God's world (themselves, each other, God, the world) through an integrated Christian program, in which Christ is central, so that he/she may learn his/her place within it. It is understood that Christian values will be the basis of all teaching. We welcome children of all denominations and beliefs. All decisions affecting the staff and management of the Centenary Christian Kindergarten will be consistent with the principles of the Lutheran Church. Philosophy of Education
The goal of the staff working at the Kindergarten is to develop the ‘whole child’. We recognise the individual potential in each child, and guide and extend their development by providing opportunities for maximum growth in every Learning Development Area – Identity, Connectedness, Wellbeing, Active Learning and Communicating. Our Kindergarten provides a broad, integrated, caring and educational program within a Christian context. Educational Curriculum
The staff at the Kindergarten formulates a program from their knowledge and observations of the children in their care. The Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) forms the basis of planning the curriculum.

National Quality Framework (NQF):
The National Quality Framework (also known as the NQF) aims to improve the quality of early childhood education and care services in Australia.
The NQF is Australia’s system for regulating early learning and school age care including: legislation and national quality standard, sector profiles and data, and learning frameworks.
Providing children with quality experiences early in life can lead to better health and education outcomes, building a productive and fair Australia.
The NQF includes legal requirements that all services must comply with, including:
• the number of staff and their qualifications
• ensuring children’s health and safety
• service space and layout
• the quality of developmental and learning experiences for children.
