Seishin-Ryu Karate-Do is a family orientated karate club, located in Brisbane's centenary suburbs. The styles being Shotokan and Goju.

Seishin-Ryu is a non contact style which is founded from the principles of two main traditional Karate styles originated from Okinawa Japan. Shotokan having the characteristics of linear, hard and strong techniques whereas Goju is round and flowing in technique. Seishin-Ryu Karate held their adult/children grading today, 13th Dec 2025. Sensei Delio and Sensei Ettore would like to extend their congratulations to all students who graded today. The honbu was extremely hot, but despite the challenging conditions, you all performed exceptionally well. We appreciate the support of parents who encouraged their children. Thank you to Sensei Scott and Sensei Errol for their assistance with the grading.

On Friday, 12 December 2025, Seishin-Ryu Karate conducted their children's grading. Sensei Delio and Sensei Ettore would like to congratulate all students on their outstanding performance. The parents' support is acknowledged with gratitude. The grading standard was exceptionally high.

Seishin-Ryu Karate held their black belt grading the 11th December 2025.
Grading was 3hours. Sensei Delio and Sensei Ettore want to congratulate all students who graded.

Congratulations to Dolores Schlosser, Ali Johnson and Sujin Gomes who graded to Nidan (2nd Dan).

Morio Higaonna is a world-renowned Okinawan karate master, recognized as an "Intangible Cultural Treasure" by the Okinawan government in 2013. He holds the highest rank in the Gōjū-ryū style of karate, a 10th Dan.
Key Information
Style: Morio Higaonna practices and teaches the Gōjū-ryū ("hard-soft style") school of karate, which is a traditional Okinawan style.
Lineage: He was a prominent student of Anichi Miyagi, who in turn was a student of Chojun Miyagi, the founder of Gōjū-ryū.
Federations: He is the founder of both the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation (IOGKF) and the Traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation (TOGKF).
Reputation: A martial arts scholar once described him as "the most dangerous man in Japan in a real fight".
Legacy: Higaonna has written several books and produced video series on Gōjū-ryū karate, focusing on preserving the traditional forms and methods. He remains actively involved in spreading Okinawan Gōjū-ryū from his dojo in Naha, Okinawa.
