The children stepped into a world of stories, imagination, creativity and adventure, exploring some of their favourite books and characters along the way. We had our very own homemade Movie Day in The kindergarten rooms, creating a special day filled with stories, favourite characters, laughter and plenty of fun!

There is always something exciting happening at Kool Kidz Merrifield across the service children have been immersed in exceptional learning experiences across our programs from yoga, art and healthy eating to science, experimentation, discovery and hands on investigations.

One of our favourite creations was designing and building our very own homemade projector! The children explored how light, shadows and images work while using their creativity, problem solving and teamwork skills.

At Kool Kidz Merrifield, we believe exceptional learning happens when children are encouraged to wonder, explore, create and discover!

Making a Difference Together@KKM!

As part of a servicewide community challenge, The children, families and team members were given the opportunity to reach out to the local community for a challenge one room decided to collect donations for Compassion North Food Bank.

Over the past month the Kool Kidz community has come together to collect food and essential items. Today, the wonderful team from Compassion North came along to collect everything we had gathered.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who contributed. Our goal was to make a small but meaningful impact for families in our community who may be going through a difficult time.

A huge thank you to our children, families and team for showing such generosity, kindness and community spirit:)
Together, even small acts can make a big difference.

We had a special visit from Archie as part of our Responsible Pets program, and the children had so much fun!
Archie helped us learn all about how to be safe and respectful around dogs, including understanding their body language, how to approach them safely, and what to do when meeting a new dog.
It was a fun and educational experience that supported the children’s learning, confidence, and safety around animals

♻️ Recycling Fun!

The children have been having so much fun using our recycling station! They have been collecting recyclable materials and learning how we can reuse things instead of throwing them away.

It has been so great to see the children getting involved, working together and learning how important it is to look after our environment. 🌏

We have been running a Community Challenge at Kool Kidz Merrifield, with each room brainstorming ideas alongside the children to find meaningful ways to give back. Here’s what some of the rooms came up with:

🌟 Dragonflies are collecting non-perishable food donations for our local food bank.
👖 Ladybugs supported Jeans for Genes by collecting donations, pre-loved jeans, and kind messages.
📚 Honeybees are growing our library with donations of pre-loved books from our families.

We’re so proud of our children for their kindness, creativity, and enthusiasm throughout this challenge.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported our initiatives—every contribution, big or small, is making a meaningful difference.

Our Butterflies created a special thank you poster for the wonderful doctors and nurses at Medical Select Mickleham.

Inspired by our Building Our Community Together project and our Doctor dramatic play, the children expressed their gratitude while learning about the important role healthcare workers play in keeping our community healthy and safe.
