🌟 📚 Our Book Fair is open from tomorrow morning from 8am in the Learning Hub.

Our office will be closed from 9:45am until 11:00am for the Opening and Blessing of our new building. Sorry for the inconvinience this may cause.

Congratulations to Mia, Leo, Zara, Charlotte, Baden, Hugo, William, Elijah, Ailish and Eloise who were Confirmed in the Catholic faith last night or this morning by Father Paul Kelly as the Bishop's representative and assisted by Associate Pastor Fr Bradley Davies.
Through Fr Paul's words and actions, the Holy Spirit was received again by these children to rekindle the fire of the Spirit which was received at Baptism.
The children renewed their Baptismal promises for themselves, which their parents and godparents made on their behalf at their Baptism. These children will now receive First Holy Communion next year completing the Sacraments of Initiation.
Congratulations to all the students, their families, Fr Paul, Fr Bradley and the Sacramental Team from the Surfers Paradise Parish for a wonderful celebration.

Today SOTS hosted a BBQ for the Relay for Life Cancer Council fundraiser- thank you to all who helped including Mrs Kogelman, Mrs Joyner and Mrs Turner on the tongs and especially to Boococks Butcher Palm Beach and Merimac Tavern for their generous donations of sausages and drinks 🌭 🥤 🌟

Last week Star of the Sea students participated in the AFLQ Schools Cup gala day - well done to all who participated and showed great sportsmanship and spirit! Thanks to Mr Ashton and Mrs Murray for coaching our team and for the support of family and friends who came to cheer on our kids

A Message from Ms Veivers in the SOTS Library!

For those of you who don’t know, it has been my pleasure to take over the running of the Star of the Sea Library recently. I love reading and immersing myself in the world of books (and used to be a professional writer myself!). Term 3 is a very exciting time of year where we get to celebrate all things books and literacy!
The 2026 Children’s Book Week will be celebrated in Week 7 at Star of the Sea. As part of this, there will be the popular Book Parade, which will be held on Friday August 21 (Week 6) from 8:30am in the covered courts. Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character – be as creative as you dare! Parents and care-givers are invited to witness this fun event too.
Following this, we will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair from Tuesday 25th August. There is always a wonderful array of books available for purchase, and some proceeds go back to raising funds for our school to buy more amazing titles for our Library.
