Through our Feed Your Mind Tuckshop Takeover, students have been encouraged to check in with friends, share positive messages, express gratitude and reflect on what helps them thrive.

Because when we look after ourselves and one another, we help build a stronger, healthier community. 💚

A huge round of applause for Year 10 Student Harrison & Year 11 Student Mitchell who signed up for their apprenticeships last term 🙌

Harrison has commenced his Cert II in Supply Chain Operations with Reece Plumbing 👨‍🏭 and Mitchell is on the path to becoming a carpenter with G.J Gardner Homes studying a Cert III in Carpentry⚒️

As part of Queensland Mental Health Week, our students have been taking time to check in with themselves through wellbeing activities focused on self-awareness, connection and reflection.

Using the “Wellbeing Temperature” activity, students explored how they are feeling, what is supporting their wellbeing, and one thing they may need today. Small moments of reflection can make a big difference.

Drama Club- Queensland Theatre's The Scene Project 🎭

This year, our Drama students proudly participated in Queensland Theatre's The Scene Project, a statewide theatre-making program for students in Years 7–12. The project provides young artists with the opportunity to engage in the full creative process of theatre, from exploring a newly commissioned script through to devising, rehearsing, and performing their own interpretation of the work, Icarus.

Working collaboratively, students developed a unique 15-minute performance inspired by the script and then shared their work at an Outcome Day alongside schools from across Queensland. The experience concluded with students watching a professional performance of the same script by Queensland Theatre actors, providing valuable insights into different approaches to storytelling, performance and careers in the theatre industry.

Participation in The Scene Project fostered creativity, teamwork, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the theatre-making process. We are incredibly proud of our students for the enthusiasm, commitment, and artistic excellence they demonstrated throughout this enriching experience.

Our Drama Club students will perform excepts from Icarus at our upcoming Arts Fest.

On Saturday, the 29th of August, our talented dance troupe performed at the Gold Coast Eisteddfod hosted at A.B Paterson College. The team excelled in 3 performances: Jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary. Placing 3rd in their Hip Hop routine, Humble, and achieved High Distinction for the Contemporary piece, Die On The Hill. Their routines displayed talent and dedication but wouldn't have been possible without the guidance of their dance instructors, Ms Attenborough and Mrs Hyde and Dance Captain, Gemma Honke. If any students wish to participate in dance and be a part of such a talented group, we strongly encourage students to look towards auditioning next year.
