Junior School Community Day!

Our Junior School students had an absolute blast today, with activities galore as our 10th birthday Community Week celebrations continue.

There was plenty of colour with face painting at lunchtime before the excitement continued with our inaugural Prep–Year 2 House Music Competition.

A huge congratulations to Freeman, who made MCC history as our very first House Music winners!

A special shout-out also goes to Abbey, one of our Year 12 Sports Captains, who was the brains behind this fantastic new event. From an idea to a brand-new MCC tradition, Abbey, you’ve truly left your legacy on our College for years to come.

Another brilliant day celebrating the students, leadership and community that make MCC so special.

Fuelled for the challenge ahead!

Our Energy Breakthrough team swapped the track for the kitchen this week, learning that preparation for race day is about much more than training and teamwork.

Students got hands-on in the kitchen, learning about nutrition and how the right foods can help fuel their bodies, support recovery and provide the energy they need to perform at their best.

Another important part of the journey as our team continues to prepare for Energy Breakthrough.

Year 7 Basketball Success!

A fantastic result for our Year 7 Basketball team, who progressed through the first stage of competition after finishing on top of their round-robin pool.

The team then faced the winner of the second pool, coming away with another great win to secure their place in the next stage of competition.

Congratulations to all of our students on a brilliant effort, fantastic teamwork and proudly representing MCC. We can’t wait to see how you go in the next round!

Learning beyond the classroom!

Our VCE VM students headed into Melbourne for their Industry and Enterprise Unit 4 excursion, exploring and comparing different styles of enterprise in action.

At the Queen Victoria Market, students examined the traditional and historical hawkers market model, with a focus on small businesses, before heading to Melbourne Central to compare these with multinational enterprises.

Students learnt about the history of Melbourne Central’s iconic Shot Tower, and, of course, no visit to the Queen Vic Market would be complete without taste-testing some popular Dutch donuts!

A great opportunity for our VCE VM students to see their classroom learning come to life in the real world.

Staff are holding strong!

Two days into Community Week and our teachers have taken an early lead in the all-important Students vs Staff battle!

Yesterday saw staff take on our Aspire students in Volleyball, followed by today’s Year 12 Students vs Staff Family Feud, and so far, the teachers are proving pretty hard to beat.

Community Week is officially underway!

Today we kick off our 10th birthday celebrations with Aspire Community Day, the first of five Community Days happening across MCC this week.

And what better way to get things started than with a little friendly competition? At lunchtime, our Aspire students will take on staff in a Volleyball showdown!

Who will claim the first Community Week bragging rights? Keep an eye on our socials for today’s results!

Happy Father’s Day!

Today we wish all of our MCC dads, grandfathers and special people in the lives of our students a very Happy Father’s Day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday morning for our Father’s Day Breakfast. It was wonderful to see so many families come together, share breakfast and enjoy some special time with one another.

We hope your day is filled with plenty of laughter, love and time spent with those who mean the most.

Dinner, dancing and plenty of smiles!

Our Year 1 students enjoyed a very special evening at their Dinner and Disco this week, coming together with their friends for plenty of fun, music and dancing.

Hard work on show at today’s Year 8 Aspire Personal Best Showcase.

Throughout the term, our Aspire students have been planning, creating and working towards their own Personal Best projects, and today all that hard work came together.

From creative ideas to impressive builds, designs and passion projects, we loved seeing the incredible variety of work on display and hearing students proudly share the journey behind their projects.

The results are a fantastic and a wonderful reflection of the effort, persistence and creativity you’ve shown throughout the term. Well done year 8's.

• Father’s Day Breakfast tomorrow morning.

And next week… we’re celebrating 10 years of MCC with our Whole College Community Week! The celebrations kick off on Monday with Aspire Community Day, with plenty more happening throughout the week.

We are pleased to advise that the College has reopened payment and consent for Colour Run until EOB Monday 7th September, so jump in and consent today so your student doesn't miss out on all the fun next Thursday.
