In Intercultural Studies, students have been exploring the importance of making right and wrong decisions and how our choices can impact ourselves and others. Through discussions and activities, students are learning to understand shared expectations and develop safe, respectful decision-making skills.
They have also been discovering how emotions and feelings can influence the choices we make, helping them build greater self-awareness, empathy, and understanding of others. These valuable lessons support students in becoming thoughtful, respectful, and responsible members of our community.

In STEM over the past couple of weeks all Grade 3 and 4 students had an opportunity to participate in a life cycles lesson using VR (Virtual Reality) headsets in the MPS Digihub. Students consolidated their learning by looking at lifecycles of a butterfly, frog and plant by getting up close to these living things! Students were so excited to use the VR headsets and explore this topic by feeling like they are physically among the garden and pond habitats.

On Friday 15th May, the Grade 3 students attended an exciting excursion to Healesville Sanctuary. Students had the opportunity to see a range of native Australian animals, including kangaroos, echidnas, emus, and platypuses. One of the highlights of the day was watching the bird show, where students were amazed by the birds’ clever tricks and abilities. The students also participated in an educational session where they learnt more about Aboriginal culture and Australia’s rich history. It was a fun and engaging day enjoyed by all!🦘🐨🦅

This year some of our Grade 6 students will participate in the Australasian Problem-Solving Mathematical Olympiad, which is an annual contest that has been operating since 1987. Every year, schools from all over Australia, New Zealand and other neighbouring countries take part.
This year, the students will compete in four separate contests, held between May and September. They will be required to complete a variety of challenging problem-solving tasks, in each of the contests.
Best of luck to Ognen, Vihaan, Nikita, Ishika, Adithya, Jeremy, Amelia, Toby, Kip, Ethan, Grace and Marcus. You will all be wonderful representatives of our school!
