Fed up with the scammers intruding into your space? There is a way to mitigate their effect on others.... You can report them on the federal government's website page. Reporting them can get them shut down.

The National Anti-Scam Centres uses your reports to monitor trends and tell people about new and emerging scams.

Have just added another staying safe online session... so please feel free to increase your online safety awareness by registering through the Humanatix online site. Clean (not literally) your phone regularly and it will perform better. Did you know your phone and other digital devices need a regularly clean out by turning them off once a week? This is the best way to get rid of some of the third-party trackers and other creepy-crawlies on your phone as well as freeing up some memory space.

Experts say switching off our phones and devices regularly can help preserve battery life and protect against cyber attacks.

Do you know what to do if you are scammed? The government runs a website to help you if this happens. https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/
Quick action is required - contact bank immediately or block your targeted account through the bank app on your phone or via the correct website. Check out the website as it has some really helpful tips.

Scamwatch is a website run by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), and provides information to consumers and small businesses about how to recognise, avoid and report scams.

There are now several websites out there which make for great reading if you want to be safer online. Only ever use websites that are by the Australian government or an organisation such as Choice. The organisation described in the graphic is super helpful so have a squiz. https://www.idcare.org
