There comes a point where you stop asking why someone did what they did.
Not because it doesn’t matter.
But because their behaviour has already answered the question.
People can explain themselves in all sorts of ways.
Stress.
Pressure.
Misunderstanding.
Bad timing.
Not meaning it that way.
And sometimes, maybe that is true.
But there are also moments when something in you goes still.
Because you know.
You have seen enough.
And that is where the shift happens.
Not in rage.
Not in revenge.
Not in needing everyone else to understand your side.
Just in the quiet decision:
I will decide what access you get to me.
Access to my time.
My trust.
My energy.
My generosity.
My inner world.
Because once someone has shown you what they are willing to do with those things, you are allowed to change the terms.
That is not cruelty.
That is self-respect finally getting a seat at the table.
