Merimbula-Tura Kindergarten is a long day care centre. Our focus is on providing a caring, safe and educational environment for all children in our care.

We provide care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

Kindergarten 2027 Enrolment Reminder

If your child is eligible to start school next year, now is the time to enrol! Please submit your enrolment application and book your school tour and interview appointments.

School tours will be held on:
- 21st May 2026
- 26th May 2026
- 28th May 2026
Interviews will start taking place from 22nd May 2026.

We are excited to meet our new students and welcome them to our school community!

On April 9th we were very lucky to have a visit from some members of the Merimbula RFS. The children learnt about the protective gear that is worn to fight fires and even tried on some of the uniform. We all practiced getting down to escape a fire and then the highlight was seeing the firetruck and climbing on board!
Sending out a special thank you to Ross, Kealy, James and Natalie. We appreciate you coming in and supporting our learning.
The children loved the activity books you left for them.

This experience supported children’s understanding of safety, risk, and how to respond in emergency situations. It links strongly to the importance of building children’s knowledge and confidence to protect themselves.

Families can build on this learning at home by:

Create a fire safety plan together: walk through the home and identify exits in each room. Let children help choose a safe meeting spot outside (like the letterbox)

Help children, when age appropriate, learn their full name, address and how to call emergency services (000).

These shared conversations help strengthen children’s understanding of safety and support their ability to respond in real life situations.

Early Childhood Educators Day 💜

What an incredible day! A shout out to our MTK educators, for their continued incredible work. Not only today, but every day.

MTK wouldn’t be the amazing place it is without the team we have and we’re so grateful for them all! 😍

To celebrate our educators today we had Chloe and Nell from come in for some pamper sessions 💅🏼
Our incredible director and nominated supervisor also prepared lunch, snacks and goodie bags for everyone. Wow!!

Safe to say we’re all feeling very blessed for the team that we have, and for the connections we have with our MTK families and children. How lucky are we to get to learn, teach and grow alongside a community as beautiful as this 🩵💙💛

Well... We did it! Our Do it for Dolly Fundraiser Walk was a smashing success!! 💙🩵

Our walking goal was to walk 100km over the month. We exceeded 200km!! 🚶🏼‍♀️

Our fundraising goal was $500. We reached that within a week so we upped it to $750. We even exceeded that - reaching a grand total of $841 over the month. Thank you so much to everyone who donated to such an important cause!! We appreciate you more than you know 🤩🤩

Included in our post are a few photos from our walks, taken by MTK educators. What a beautiful part of the world we live in 🌊🌳

Do it for Dolly Day - Friday May 9th 2025

This year the educators at MTK are participating in the 'Do it for Dolly Fundraiser Walk'. We'll aim to walk 100km over the month of May in order to bring awareness to youth mental health!

As a service, we are also participating in Do it for Dolly Day by wearing blue on Friday May 9th! A gold coin donation is asked and all proceeds will go towards Dolly's Dream. Please get involved and wear blue on Friday!

Dolly's Dream focuses on enhancing education and support around bullying and mental health. This is such an important cause that rings true to so many of us, as we watch our children experience these things first hand, and as we strive to support and shape the growth, wellbeing and minds of future generations.

Introducing our new produce stand! 🌾🌻

It's been a while... but we sometimes put a few things out for families to take home. Now, with our new stand, we'll have lots of space and hopefully lots of produce to fill it. If you're growing vegetables, fruit or salad at home and have too much, please feel free to add to the stand!

We're also doing a canned food swap! Have cans at home you no longer want or need? Bring them in and add them to the stand. Then you can take something you do need instead

We do ask that all cans and tins be in good condition, in date, and nut free.

Happy World Read Aloud Day!

Reading aloud is one of the most powerful gifts we can give our children. It builds language, strengthens comprehension, and nurtures a love for books that can last a lifetime. More than that, it’s a special way to connect, spark curiosity, and explore new worlds together.

At MTK, we see firsthand how stories bring joy, inspire imagination, and encourage deep thinking. Whether it’s a well-loved bedtime favorite, a silly rhyming book, or a new adventure, every story shared is another step in your child’s learning journey.

So today, let’s celebrate by picking up a book and reading with our little ones. What’s a story your child loves to hear again and again? Drop it in the comments—we’d love to know!

🎄 Celebrating Our Amazing Educators! 🎄

To celebrate and recognise the incredible hard work and dedication of our educators at Merimbula Tura Kindergarten, we enjoyed the most wonderful Christmas party! 🌟

A huge thank you to:

✨ Jake from Jake’s Place for providing us with a stunning venue where we could bond, laugh, and create memories.
✨ Jake and the team at Bega Valley Coaches for driving us safely in the rain—it meant the world to us.
✨ Tilba Valley Winery & Ale House for a delightful lunch and delicious wine that truly set the tone for the day.
✨ Sam Fletcher Music for keeping us entertained, joining in the glasses game, and inviting us to sing along—you made it extra special!
✨ Minka and the amazing MorMors team for going above and beyond! From the beautifully set table to the incredible spread of delicious food, your warmth, hospitality, and effort made our night absolutely perfect. We are so grateful!

Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to Paddy and Debbie, the amazing owners of MTK, for everything you do to support and care for us. We appreciate you so much!

Our new Sensory Garden 😍
Scroll to the end for the before! We wanted to take a space that was really quite empty and create a wonderland of sensory exploration. In this space we will learn about different plants - both edible and otherwise, explore fundamental movement skills, spatial awareness, self and co-regulation, sustainability and much much more.

Working bee on a Saturday to get it done! A few finishing touches will be added throughout the week but what an incredible effort.

Huge shoutout to the educators and their families who helped make this happen! 💜
