✨ Electives at OLSH! ✨

This year, we have continued our Electives program at OLSH as a way to give our students new and different experiences, while also providing opportunities for them to spend time doing something they already enjoy. Most importantly, our electives give students greater voice and agency in their learning and allow them to explore their interests in a fun and engaging way.

Our Junior students have been busy exploring a range of exciting activities:

Our Senior students have also had the opportunity to get involved in:

It has been wonderful to see our students trying new things, developing new skills and, most importantly, enjoying learning in ways that reflect their interests and strengths.

We look forward to continuing to grow our Electives program into the future and providing even more opportunities for our students to choose, explore, create and learn! 💙

📚 Thursday - Book Week Dress-Up & Parade
Get ready to celebrate Book Week! 📖✨ Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character. Our Book Week Parade will begin at 9:00am, and families are very welcome to come along and join us for the fun!

🎤 Friday - Grade 5 Assembly
Our Grade 5 students will be hosting assembly on Friday. We look forward to celebrating their learning and achievements with our school community.

Happy Principal's Day to the person who somehow manages to keep all the plates spinning (and usually with a smile)!

From answering a hundred questions before morning tea, solving problems we didn't even know existed, cheering on our students, supporting our staff and somehow remembering everyone's name – Mrs Gallagher does it all.

Behind every great school is a Principal who wears more hats than we can count... leader, problem-solver, referee, event organiser, encourager and occasional detective! Thankfully, she wears them all with grace, good humour and an unwavering commitment to our school community.

Thank you for your dedication, kindness and the countless little things you do that often go unnoticed but make such a big difference.

We appreciate you today and every day.

⛳ Junior Golf Opportunity! ⛳

Merbein Golf Club is pleased to be hosting the Tee Mates Rookies Series and has asked us to share the details with our families.

Tee Mates Junior Golf Event – Merbein Golf Club
Next Sunday August 9 is the inaugural Tee Mates Event in the district hosted by Merbein Golf Club, 355 McEdward Street Cabarita.
Event Information -
Registration for this event closes at Tue 04 Aug 2026 17:00.
TeeMates Rookies Series events provide a great challenge for regular junior players and a stepping stone for those looking to transition into some of their first competitive experiences.
TeeMates Rookies Series events are suited to players from aged 6 to 15 years old with divisions based on 9-hole handicaps. The course is adjusted in length to suit all ages and there are also modified rules to suit the profile of the players competing.
Handicaps will be allocated to players competing in the Rookies Series. Players need to return one score in a 9-Hole Golf Australia Series events to be eligible to have a handicap and win net prizes.
Location: Merbein Golf Club, 355 McEdward Street Cabarita
Tee Mates Member: $20.00
Non-Member: $30.00
Tee Time: 8:30am Registration Opens
9AM Registration Cut Off

Our 3/4 Campers have had a great time in Swan Hill.

A little update from our Grade 3/4 Camp! 🏕️
Our campers arrived just after 11:00 am and quickly settled into camp life. They have had a fantastic first day, throwing themselves into the activities, making new memories, and having lots of fun!
After a busy day, everyone is happily worn out and settling in for the night. We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! 😊

🎉💯 100 Days of Prep! 💯🎉

Today our Prep students celebrated a very special milestone – 100 Days of School!

The day was filled with fun celebrations, including bead necklace making, creating 100 Days glasses and crowns, and a range of other exciting activities to mark this special occasion.

A huge congratulations to all of our amazing Prep students on reaching this wonderful milestone in their first year of school. We are so proud of everything you have learned and achieved over the past 100 days!

A big thank you to Miss Appledore and Mrs Torquati for making the day so special and creating such wonderful memories for our Prep students. 🌟
