Our Term 4 College Assembly this morning celebrated student achievement, recognised outstanding contributions and marked an important leadership transition, as our Year 12 students gathered for their final College Assembly.

Congratulations to all recipients of our VCE Units 3&4 and VCE VM Subject Awards, annual College and other special awards. We also celebrated raising over $14,700 for Saltbush Balnarring Beach through our Brigidine Day fundraising efforts, and congratulated Brigid House on being named our 2026 Overall Champion House.

We thanked our 2026 Co-Captains, Leila and Elizabeth, for their leadership and welcomed our 2027 Co-Captains as they prepare to lead the College next year. Musical performances added to a meaningful morning of celebration and reflection.

In her address to our Year 12 students, Principal Stephanie Smyth shared a heartfelt message:

“When one of you succeeds, celebrate her. When one of you struggles, stand beside her. Wherever life takes you, keep making room for one another. Let your lights shine, and help others to see theirs. Go well, my Special K’s. Go with Strength and Kindliness, knowing that you are loved, that you belong, and that you are already enough.”

A fitting message as our Year 12 students prepare for their next chapter. We wish them every success as they carry the spirit of Kilbreda with them.

Our VCE Music students recently presented their full practical examination programs as they prepare for their upcoming VCE performance exams.

The recital gave students the opportunity to perform before an audience and receive valuable feedback from an external assessor. This experience is an important part of their preparation, helping them refine their performances, build confidence and make those final improvements. The evening also featured our VCE Unit 1/2 Music students, who showcased their developing musicianship throughout the evening.

Congratulations to the students on their dedication, commitment and artistry. We wish them all the very best as they continue to polish their programs ahead of their VCE practical examinations!

What a wonderful evening we shared at Thursday night’s Visual Arts, Design and Technologies Exhibition. Mary Dalton Hall came alive as students, families, friends and staff gathered to celebrate the incredible creativity and talent of our young people.

From visual artworks and photography to fashion, food, design and media, the exhibition showcased the imagination, skill and hard work of our students. It was wonderful to see their creativity celebrated by our community. The Fashion Parade was also a highlight, with students proudly bringing their designs to life and sharing their creativity with an enthusiastic crowd.

A huge congratulations to every student who contributed, and a special thank you to our Visual Arts and Design and Technologies teams and all the staff who helped make the evening such a success.

What better way to finish Term 3 than with a Brigidine Day packed with fun, community spirit and plenty of unforgettable moments!

Our Walk for a Cause took students and staff along the beach, raising funds for our 2026 charity, Saltbush Balnarring Beach. We then came back to the College for a BBQ, fundraising stalls, delicious food and plenty of activities.

The afternoon was full of entertainment, with fantastic performances from the KDC and another unforgettable Lip-Sync Battle! From colourful wigs and hilarious trolls to dynamic duos and trios, there was certainly no shortage of creativity or energy.

A massive thank you to all the staff and students who worked behind the scenes to bring Brigidine Day 2026 to life. Your time, energy and enthusiasm made it a wonderful way to celebrate the end of Term 3!

Our annual Visual Arts, Design and Technologies Exhibition is back – and it’s an evening you won’t want to miss!

Thursday 8 October
From 5.30pm
Mary Dalton Hall

Come along and celebrate the incredible talent of our students, with an inspiring showcase of work from our fashion designers, cake decorators, photographers, artists, food technologists, filmmakers and many more.

Most of the exhibition will be on display in the Hall, with Media screenings also taking place in the Auditorium and Function Rooms. Throughout the evening, there will be plenty to see and experience, including our Fashion Parade at 7.20pm sharp. Watch as our student models take to the catwalk and bring their designers’ creations to life – one of the many highlights of an evening celebrating creativity and student achievement.

Come along and celebrate the creativity, passion and dedication of our talented students. It promises to be a fantastic evening of art, design, innovation and inspiration.

Today, on Brigidine Day and the final day of Term 3, we celebrated our 2026 Brigid Award recipients - students who truly embody our College values of Strength and Kindliness.

These special, peer-nominated awards recognise two students from each year level who make a positive difference to those around them. Today we celebrated Brigidine Day, honouring our identity and heritage as a Brigidine school.

Staff and students came together for a moving Mass led by Fr Peter Matheson, reflecting on the courage, compassion and commitment of the Brigidine Sisters and the legacy they continue to inspire at Kilbreda.

Following Mass, we celebrated the peer-voted Brigid Awards, recognising students who embody our College values, live our motto of Strength and Kindliness, and make a positive contribution to our community.

Congratulations to all our award recipients (see separate post), and thank you to Ms Carole Downie and everyone who helped make the morning so memorable
