Our kinder needs to replace the soft fall mulch in the backyard, a project expected to cost around $30,000.

The good news? Every sausage sold at our Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on Saturday 3 October brings us one step closer. 🌭🥳

How can you help?

Volunteer for a 2-hour shift. No experience needed. You’ll be helping with simple tasks like cooking, serving customers or taking payments. It’s always a fun day and a great way to meet other kinder families.

Can’t volunteer? Consider making a small donation towards set-up costs so more of the money raised goes directly back to the kinder.

Can’t do either? Share the links with family, friends, grandparents, neighbours or anyone who might be willing to lend a hand.

Messy hands, busy minds! 🐬✨

Our 3yo Dolphins have loved exploring the mud kitchen, investigating our bug sensory tray and getting creative with cloud dough over the last couple of weeks. Sensory play encourages curiosity, imagination and learning through play, and there were plenty of smiles along the way! 💚

🦘 Five Fun Facts – Building Confidence Through Learning! 🐨

Each week, one of our 4-year-old kinder children takes home our Five Fun Facts project featuring a special Australian animal.

Together with their family, they are invited to:
🦘 Learn five interesting facts about the animal.
🎨 Create a drawing of their animal.
🗣️ Present what they’ve learnt to their friends during group time.

While this is lots of fun, it’s also a wonderful learning opportunity that supports so many important developmental skills, including:

✨ Building confidence when speaking in front of a group.
✨ Developing early public speaking and communication skills.
✨ Strengthening memory and recall.
✨ Expanding vocabulary and general knowledge.
✨ Encouraging curiosity about Australia’s unique wildlife.
✨ Practising listening and turn-taking as children learn from one another.
✨ Fostering family involvement by completing the activity together at home.

These weekly presentations give every child the opportunity to celebrate their learning, share their knowledge with their peers, and grow in confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment.

We can’t wait to discover all of the incredible Australian animals our children will teach us about throughout the year! 🇦🇺💚

🌿 🤝 Staff Professional Development Day 🤝🌿

Recently, our team came together for a Professional Development Day with Yarn Strong Sistas as part of our ongoing commitment to our Reconciliation Action Plan.

Through discussions about Indigenous artists, Elders, ceremony, books and language, we explored ways to embed Aboriginal perspectives and pedagogy into our kindergarten program. We also participated in hands-on learning experiences using ochre and clay inspired by Indigenous stories and symbols.

Professional learning opportunities like these help us create richer, more inclusive learning environments where children can develop a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and ways of knowing.

We are grateful to our committee and families for supporting this important learning, which will continue to enhance the experiences we provide for all children at our kindergarten.

🌿✨ New Outdoor Resources Thanks to a Kingston Council Grant! ✨🌿

We are excited to share some of the wonderful new outdoor resources that have recently been added to our kindergarten!

A huge thank you to our Vice President, Sacha, for successfully securing a grant from Kingston Council. Thanks to his dedication and hard work, we have been able to purchase a range of fantastic equipment that will enrich our outdoor learning environment for years to come.

These new resources provide endless opportunities for children to play, explore, create and discover. Through open-ended experiences, children are encouraged to investigate, problem-solve, collaborate and use their imaginations while developing important physical, cognitive and social-emotional skills.

We are incredibly grateful to Sacha and Kingston Council for helping us create even more opportunities for meaningful outdoor learning and adventure. We can’t wait to see all the fun, exploration and learning these resources inspire! 🌱☀️💚

🎭📚 Flying Bookworm Theatre Company 📚🎭

Our Monday and Wednesday 4-year-old kindergarten groups were completely captivated by the Flying Bookworm Theatre Company this week!

The children didn’t just watch the stories, they became part of them. Through lively, interactive performances, they eagerly joined in, took on roles, responded to the characters and were fully engrossed in the storytelling. Their enthusiasm, imagination and participation brought the performances to life.

The children enjoyed favourite tales including The Little Red Hen, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs and more, with plenty of laughter, excitement and engagement throughout.

Experiences like these help nurture a love of books, storytelling and literacy while building confidence, creativity and imagination.

Thank you to Flying Bookworm Theatre Company for providing such a memorable and enriching experience for our kindergarten children. 📖✨
