🚑 BUILDING CONFIDENCE IN AN EMERGENCY ❤️‍🩹

Our Foundation – Year 6 students took part in the St John Ambulance First Aid in Schools Program, developing important skills and confidence to respond in an emergency.

Through engaging, age-appropriate activities, students learned how to recognise an emergency, respond safely and seek help by calling Triple Zero (000). Our older students also explored essential first aid skills, including checking airway and breathing, placing someone in the recovery position and performing CPR.

From interactive games and Storytime activities to hands-on scenarios and problem-solving challenges, students had the opportunity to practise real-world skills and learn how they can make a difference when it matters most.

Thank you to St John Ambulance for helping our students build first aid awareness, confidence and the skills needed to create a safer, more resilient community. 👏

CAT MATHS COMPETITION SUCCESS

In Term 2, students from Years 7 – 11 took on the Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) Mathematics Competition, a challenging problem-solving competition that encourages students to develop algorithms and apply creative thinking to increasingly complex mathematical problems.

For some students, this was their first opportunity to extend their mathematical thinking beyond the classroom, and we are incredibly proud of the curiosity, resilience and perseverance they demonstrated. 👏

Congratulations to all students who participated, with special recognition to the following students for their outstanding achievements:

🏆 High Distinction & Best in School: Hudson T (Year 7)

⭐ Distinction: Blake G (Year 7), Harrison K (Year 7), Jaiden S (Year 7), Kimi S (Year 7), Cameron W (Year 8) and Johnny W (Year 9)

Well done to all students for embracing the challenge and showcasing their problem-solving skills! 🧩✨

100 DAYS OF FOUNDATION!

Our Foundation students hit a very exciting milestone, 100 days of learning at Mentone Grammar on Wednesday 12 August 2026! To celebrate, our youngest learners transformed into their 100-year-old selves, arriving with walking sticks, rollers, cosy cardigans and plenty of pretend sore backs! The creativity (and commitment to character!) was fantastic. 👵👴

The celebrations became even more special when Froggie and Ebbie dropped by for a surprise visit, sharing plenty of hugs and high fives with our newest 'centenarians'.

Congratulations to our Foundation students on an incredible first 100 days, and a big thank you to their families and teachers who have been part of the journey!

GIVING DAY 2026 | WE DID IT!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU – we are profoundly grateful for your support. With your generosity and the extraordinary support of The Mentonians Association, $268,658 has been raised as at 8.00pm on 18 August to support the redevelopment of Keysie!

Your gift will enable us to kickstart the first stage of our new Master Plan that will ensure that Keysborough can continue to support our sport, our connections and our community long into the future.

We couldn’t have done it without you.

Our Giving Day platform will remain open until 8.00pm on Friday 28 August for those who may not have had the opportunity to contribute today. While every gift continues to be deeply valued and will directly support our Keysborough project, please note that donations made after Giving Day may not be eligible for doubling if all our matching funds are exhausted, but all donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.

Thank you for playing it forward for Keysie!

GREAT NEWS – YOU CAN STILL DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT WITH OUR BONUS ROUND!

If you haven’t donated yet, there’s still time to make a difference and every dollar will still be DOUBLED thanks to The Mentonians Association until our new bonus target of $280,000 is reached! Plus, donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
