DM STRENGTH to start with The 3 Pregnancy Strength Foundations Hi, I am Elke, the coach you call when you want to stay shockingly fit during pregnancy! I once feared pregnancy. Not the baby, but what it might do to my strong, defined body. Then I fell pregnant ... and lost the baby. And everything changed. I knew I wanted motherhood - but not at the cost of losing myself. So I made a decision:

I

ā€œOMG, I feel so much calmer now.ā€
ā€œI actually feel ready.ā€
ā€œI had no idea leg position could change how much space you create for pushing.ā€

These were some of the reactions after my last Born Ready workshop.

And this is exactly why I created it.

Not to tell women there’s one ā€œrightā€ way to give birth.
Not to promise how your birth will look like.
But to help you actually understand what your body is doing.

We look at birth biomechanics, movement, positioning, breathing, pushing, core + pelvic floor. The practical MUST KNOWS to take charge of YOUR birth, instead of handing it over to someone else.

And we don’t just talk about it. We practise it.
Because you don’t need to control your birth. But you should be prepared to participate in it.

I’m away for the next 6 weeks, so the next workshop date isn’t open yet.

This has been sitting with me all week.

I would love ALL women walking into birth understanding their body, knowing their options and knowing they have a role to play.

Because there’s a big difference between making an informed choice and simply going along with what happens next.

That’s what I want more women thinking about BEFORE they’re in the birth room.

I went deeper into this on the blog:
When Did We Start Outsourcing Birth?

Comment BIRTH and I’ll send it to you.

I did it again this weekšŸ™„.

I joined a new gym. New women. New bodies. New comparison points.

And within no time my brain had found something:

My bum isn’t as lifted as hers.

FFS. šŸ˜‚

Never mind that I’m strong. That I train consistently. That this body has grown and birthed 2 children. That I’m actually really happy with how my body looks and feels right now.

My brain had already found the next thing to improve. I’ve always been a hyper-achiever. Reach the goal. Find the next one. Improve. Repeat.

And I don’t actually want to lose that part of myself. I love challenge. I love growth. I love seeing what I’m capable of.

But I’m getting much better at catching where the motivation is coming from and if I am going down a rabbit hole that won’t serve me.

Is it: ā€œI’d love to see what I can do next.ā€
Or: ā€œWhat I have right now isn’t good enough.ā€

Because those are 2 very different places to build from.

There’s always going to be something I could improve.

But there’s always something I can appreciate right now.

I don’t want to become so obsessed with the next version of myself that I stop appreciating the woman and body I already have.

Once you start catching your inner mean mama, life gets a lot easier (and fun) ladies!šŸ’ƒšŸ™ŒšŸ”„

They often tell me the same thing - ā€˜ā€™I am feeling constantly behind’’.

No matter if pregnant, early postpartum or already a few years into motherhood - so many women tell me the same thing.

Behind at work.
Behind at home.
Behind with my health. And how my body feels and looks like.

Like you’re failing somewhere no matter how hard you try.

But maybe the problem isn’t you.

The latest National Working Families Report with more than 6200 respondents of working parents found:

• 74% of women say they’re stressed.
• 42% struggle to look after their own physical and mental health while balancing work and family.
• Half of working parents say they’re too physically or emotionally drained after work to fully show up for their family.

That isn’t because women suddenly became less capable.

It’s because we’re trying to do two full-time jobs.
One at work.
One at home.
And somewhere in the middle we’re expected to look after ourselves too.

You don’t need to become more resilient.

You need to understand what’s happening and why it’s happening to all of us, when we become mothers.

ā¤ļø Follow if you want to finally understand that everything you’re experiencing is not just in your head. It’s part of the process of becoming a mother and there’s a different way of experiencing it all.

A lighter one, a more peaceful one.

I’d love to show it to you šŸ¤.

I read an article this week about why so many working mothers leave the workforce.

But that wasn’t what stayed with me. I kept thinking about the woman who doesn’t leave. The woman who keeps showing up. Who keeps achieving.

Who keeps telling herself...
ā€œJust get through this next project.ā€
ā€œWhen work settles down, I’ll feel better.ā€
ā€œWhen the kids are a little older, I’ll feel like myself again.ā€

The article talked about the women who leave.

But I wonder how many stay while quietly wondering what happened to the woman they used to be.

Not because they’ve become less capable.

Not because they’re no longer ambitious.

But because no one prepared them for how much becoming a mother can change the way they see themselves, their work and the life they want to create.

Maybe that’s why so many women think something is wrong with them.

Maybe they’re trying to solve the wrong problem.

Maybe the goal isn’t to get back to who you were.

Maybe it’s to get to know the woman you’re becoming.

For years, I thought preparing for pregnancy meant staying fit, choosing the right care team and getting ready for birth.

And yes... those things matter. Absolutely.

But after becoming a mum, I realised nobody had prepared me.
Not for the identity shift.
Not for the guilt of wanting time to myself.
Not for the fear of losing the body I’d worked so hard for.
Not for wondering whether I’d still recognise the woman in the mirror.

I had to piece it together myself.
Through my own experience.
Through two pregnancies.
Through two very different births and postpartum journeys.
Through studying pregnancy, birth, strength training and matrescence.

That’s why I coach differently.

Yes, we’ll build the strongest body of your life (get ready for it šŸ”„šŸ’Ŗ).

Yes, we’ll prepare for birth.

But we’ll also prepare for everything that comes after.

Because I refuse to let ambitious women walk into motherhood prepared for the baby...
..but completely unprepared for themselves.

I don’t want you to spend years trying to ā€žfind yourselfā€œ again.

I want you to look back one day and think...

ā€œOMG… I thought I’d have to choose.
Instead... I built a life where I didn’t have to.ā€œ

If this is you, welcome to my worldšŸ¤šŸ”„šŸ’Ŗ.

And when you’re ready, comment READY and I’ll send you the 3 things I wish someone had been honest enough to tell me before I became a mum.

Most fitness advice for pregnant women is one of two things:
Push through. Or stop completely.

Both are wrong. And both cost you more than you think.

Your body right now is not just something you maintain.
It is the foundation everything else is built on.

Think of your body like like a building.
You’ve already built something strong.
But a cracked foundation doesn’t collapse immediately - it shows up later.
In your recovery. Your energy. Your confidence. Your relationship.

Strong body → calm nervous system.
Calm nervous system → self trust.
Self trust → ripple effect on everything.

In Business. Your Birth. Your Recovery. Your Marriage.

EVERYTHING.

This is not motivation. This is what I build with every woman I work with.

Before she needs it. Not after.

Save this and share it with a high achieving pregnant mama who needs to hear it.
