“Well done to all 13 participants in this Term's Pasifika STARR program! We have seen each student grow in understanding and exhibition of each of the MSC STARR values; Success, Teamwork, Ambition, Respect and Responsibility. We hope to see their efforts in the program continue to reflect through their everyday lives.
We want to thank each student for their commitment to the program and for participating so well in every session. We look forward to working closely with Term 2's group as they step into a leadership role for the program in Term 3.
Until next Term,
Yvonne Ioane & Afu Toleafoa”

Year 11 History students recently visited the Jewish Holocaust Centre to hear the testimony of survivor Charles German and work with holocaust educators to study artefacts from the time. Students represented the school impeccably and were commended for their insightful questions and high levels of engagement. Great job to our young historians!

On Friday we were privileged to host author Ellie Marney as part of the Melton City Libraries short story competition promotion. Year 7’s that attended the session were really engaged with Ellie sharing some of her stories, whilst providing inspiration for our young upcoming writers. Students Tyler and Maggie received a signed copy of Ellie’s books for their participation.
Check out the last two images in the carousel for details around the short story competition running through Melton City Libraries with some great prizes on offer!!

As part of our Year 11 Personal Development Skills class, VCAL students have been working away organising fundraisers to raise money to donate to a variety of foundations, including:
- Kids Helpline
- Royal Children’s Hospital
- Sunshine Hospital
- Bully Zero Foundation
- Beyond Blue
Pictured here are students promoting three of these great fundraisers - an ice cream stand, a ‘guess how many jellybeans’ game, and a bottle flipping contest. Many other fantastic initiatives have been carried out over the past couple of weeks and students should be proud of their efforts. Well done to all students for meeting all of our STARR values through this project; success, teamwork, ambition, respect and responsibility. Keep up this great work!
