Our toddlers have been getting creative with some free painting on our outdoor windows!🎨🖌️

This open-ended experience encouraged our little artists to explore colours, patterns and mark-making while enjoying the freedom to create. Most importantly, they had so much fun getting messy and expressing their creativity! 💕🌈

✏️✨ **Building Skills for School!** ✨✏️

Our 4-year-old Kinder children are developing their fine motor skills through hands-on experiences that help prepare them for school.

Activities such as drawing, cutting, threading, playdough, and using pencils strengthen little hands and fingers, supporting the coordination and control needed for writing, using scissors, managing belongings, and completing everyday classroom tasks.

These small steps are helping our Kinder children build confidence, independence, and the skills they need as they get ready for their next big adventure — **school!** 🎒💛

🚂✨All Aboard in the Wallabies Room!✨🚂

Our toddlers have been busy getting creative and building their very own train tracks using tape and icy pole sticks!

This open-ended experience encouraged the children to use their imagination, problem-solving skills, and creativity as they designed and connected their tracks. They also developed fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination while carefully placing the icy pole sticks.

We loved watching our little builders work together, share ideas, and bring their train adventures to life! 💛

🌿☀️Our Nursery Children Love Being Outdoors!☀️🌿

Outdoor time provides our youngest learners with wonderful opportunities to explore, move, and discover the world around them.

Being outside supports physical development, coordination, sensory exploration, curiosity, and emotional wellbeing. Our nursery children enjoy feeling the breeze, exploring different textures, watching nature, and engaging in age-appropriate outdoor play.

These everyday experiences help build confidence, encourage curiosity, and create a strong connection with the natural environment from an early age. 💚

🌿🥕Little Gardeners, Big Discoveries!🥕🌿

Our 3-year-old Kinder children have been enjoying the excitement of harvesting vegetables straight from our garden! With plenty of enthusiasm, the children picked, explored, and tasted their freshly grown produce.

It was wonderful to see their curiosity as they discovered the different colours, textures, smells, and flavours of the vegetables they had helped care for.

These everyday experiences create meaningful opportunities for children to connect with nature, make healthy food choices, and celebrate the rewards of caring for something from start to finish. 💚

🎭✨ Puppet Show Fun in the Wallabies Room! ✨🎭

Our Wallabies children had a wonderful time enjoying a special puppet show! They were captivated by the colourful characters and storytelling, joining in with lots of smiles, laughter, and excitement.

Puppet shows provide wonderful opportunities for children to develop their imagination, language, communication, listening, and social skills while enjoying a fun and engaging experience together. 💛

💇✂️ Welcome to **Hair by Wallabies!** ✂️💇

Our toddlers have been loving their newest dramatic play space, **Hair by Wallabies**! This inviting hair salon encourages children to use their imagination as they become hairdressers, customers, and stylists.

Through role play, children build confidence, develop language and communication skills, practise turn-taking, and strengthen their social and emotional development. From brushing and styling to chatting with their "clients," every interaction is filled with creativity, laughter, and learning.

We can't wait to see all the amazing hairstyles our little hairdressers create at **Hair by Wallabies**! 💛

🐞🦋 Exploring the Wonderful World of Insects! 🐜🐛

Our toddlers have been busy discovering the amazing world of insects through hands-on exploration and play. From observing different bugs to talking about where they live and how they move, the children were full of curiosity and excitement.

These experiences encourage children to ask questions, build their vocabulary, and develop an appreciation for the natural world. Exploring insects also supports imaginative play, observation skills, and early scientific thinking.

We loved watching our little explorers investigate, discover, and learn together! 🌿💚

🎶🎵 Music with Hey Dee Ho! 🎵🎶

Our children love participating in our **Hey Dee Ho Music** program! Through singing, dancing, movement, and interactive musical experiences, they build confidence, creativity, language, coordination, and social skills—all while having so much fun.

Music encourages self-expression, supports early brain development, and helps children develop listening, memory, and communication skills in a joyful and engaging way.

There's nothing better than seeing our children smiling, singing, and learning together through the power of music! 🎤💛

Our Toddler Family Photo Wall is a special space where children can celebrate the people who mean the most to them. Filled with family photos and the children's own beautiful drawings of their families, this display helps create a strong sense of belonging and connection within our learning environment.

Throughout the day, the children enjoy pointing out their loved ones, sharing stories, and talking proudly about the special people in their lives. Their family drawings encourage self-expression, language development, and an appreciation of the unique families that make up our Story House Melton community.

By creating spaces that reflect each child's home life, we help foster meaningful relationships, emotional security, and a sense of identity and belonging. 💛
