Every child (and adult!) has different sensory preferences, so what works for one person may not work for another. The key is finding the sensory tool that best meets their individual needs.

Sensory overload isn't just something children experience. Parents do too.

Sensory overload happens when your brain receives more information from your senses than it can comfortably process.

As parents, we're constantly juggling...
💭 The mental load
🔊 The noise
📱 The notifications
🍽️ The meals
🚗 The school runs
💙 Everyone else's needs

Sometimes it all becomes too much—and even the smallest things can feel overwhelming.

That's okay. You're human.

Taking a few moments to reset isn't selfish—it's essential.
We'd love to hear from you...

Have you ever experienced sensory overload? What helps you cope when everything feels like too much?

Share your tips below—you never know who you might help. 👇

Sensory seeking is communication.

When a person is jumping, squeezing, spinning, crashing, hiding or pulling... they're not trying to be "naughty" or "difficult."

They're telling us something.

Their body is saying:

"I need more sensory input."

These behaviours aren't random—they're signals that their nervous system is seeking the input it needs to feel regulated.

The goal isn't to stop the behaviour.

The goal is to understand why it's happening and provide safe, appropriate alternatives that meet that sensory need.

When we support regulation instead of simply correcting behaviour, we help build calm, confidence, learning and connection.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is stop asking,
"How do I stop this behaviour?"
and start asking,
"What is this behaviour trying to tell me?"

A gentle reminder to ourselves—and our kids: 🌟

You are enough to radiate happiness!
Embrace the tiny triumphs, laugh unapologetically, and unconditionally be YOU.

You are worthy of joy, just as you are, in this very moment!
