Our Kinder room transformed into a busy construction zone as the children explored open-ended play using magnetic tiles, wooden blocks, LEGO, and cardboard boxes. From towering skyscrapers to cozy family homes, our young builders brought their imaginations to life through creative design and construction.🦺📦

As they planned, built, and problem-solved together, the children were developing a range of important skills, including critical thinking, fine motor coordination, spatial awareness, communication, and teamwork. 💭🧱

Our educators supported the learning process by asking thoughtful questions, encouraging children to test their ideas, and helping them work collaboratively through challenges. It has been wonderful to watch their creativity, persistence, and confidence grow as they turned their visions into reality.

Our children first took on the "Build a Town" challenge, collaborating to design imaginative structures using blocks and cardboard. Simultaneously, some headed outdoors to conquer our "Adventure Trail" obstacle course—climbing, balancing, and building confidence every step of the way.

From problem-solving to gross motor skills, it was a fantastic day of learning through play! 🛠️🏃‍♂️

We are delighted to introduce Lincy, one of our passionate and dedicated Kinder Teachers here at Little Royals Early Learning Centre. Lincy has been with us for 3 years 💛

Thingle Toodle Visits Little Royals 🚦👑

Thingle Toodle — Victoria’s favourite road safety mascot — visited our Pre-Prep room this week!

Through fun songs, interactive storytelling, and playful role-play, Thingle Toodle helped our children learn vital road safety skills, including:

🚸 The “Stop, Look, Listen, Think” rule when crossing roads
🤝 The importance of holding an adult’s hand near traffic
🚗 Staying safe and secure in car seats

This fantastic, high-energy incursion builds on the road safety lessons we practice every day and during our weekly excursion outings.

🤪😳 Exploring “big feelings” through play! 😊🥲

Yesterday, our 4-year-old Kinder children engaged in a range of fun and meaningful learning experiences focused on emotional awareness and expression.

Through a variety of interactive stations, the children explored facial expression cards and created self-reflection portraits using mirrors, practiced calming movements and turn-taking at our yoga station, and used playdough and natural materials to sculpt different emotions.

It was wonderful to see the children building confidence in expressing their feelings while developing their emotional vocabulary and important social skills such as empathy, cooperation, and self-awareness. 💛
