📚Book Week Magic at
Little Royals! 📚

There is nothing quite like watching a child’s eyes light up when they step into the world of a great story. This week at Little Royals, our rooms were filled with boundless imagination, endless laughter, and a shared love for books and language.

From interactive rhyming games to hands-on literacy adventures, our children explored the power of words in so many creative ways. The highlight for many was our dress-up day, where storybook royalty, superheroes, and beloved fairy-tale characters came alive in every corner! 🦸‍♂️🧙‍♀️🐻

To keep the magic growing, our children had a blast visiting our Little Royals Lending Library to handpick their favourite books to take home. Sharing those stories with family is where the true lifelong love of reading begins.

🖤💛❤️ Our Little Long Walk – Celebrating Children, Culture & Community 👣🌿

On the 4th of August, in celebration of National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day, our centre came together for our Little Long Walk. 🖤💛❤️

It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to explore, learn about, and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Through listening, singing, and participating together, the children built their confidence, deepened their sense of belonging, and learned what it means to show respect for Country, culture, and community.

Together, we walked down to the tennis courts 👣, where we shared our Acknowledgement of Country and sang the beautiful songs Inanay and Taba Naba. 🎶 We also sang Happy Birthday to honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, their families, and their rich cultural heritage.

A big thank you to all the families who joined us on our walk. We deeply appreciate your support and were thrilled to share such a special experience with you and the children.

This session is designed for families with children who will be turning three or four years old by 30 April 2027 and are interested in enrolling in our Government-funded Kindergarten program.

Everyone at Little Royals had a wonderful time celebrating NAIDOC Week 2026! Every room joyfully embraced the celebrations, exploring rich Indigenous traditions through art, storytelling, and music.

Introducing cultural education to children during their early years is incredibly important. It sparks curiosity, builds deep empathy, and helps them grow up respecting the diverse world around them. Engaging with these vibrant traditions helps our little ones feel connected to history and to each other.

🎓 Recent Master’s in Education graduate, bringing fresh insights into early learning.

🏫 10+ years of experience working with school-aged children.

🧸 2+ years of experience specifically supporting kinder children ages 3 to 5 as part of the Little Royals Team.

Athena is dedicated to educational excellence and loves helping young learners build the confidence they need for a smooth, successful transition to school.

🚀 Today was all about hands-on learning in our STEM lab! 🔬

The children turned into mini-scientists and engineers today, exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math through four incredible, interactive stations:

🔢 Number Recognition & Counting: Building early math confidence by matching, ordering, and counting with fun visual tools.

🪵 Loose-parts Exploration Table: Sparking creativity and engineering thinking as the children sorted, designed, and experimented with open-ended materials.

🥎 Ball Pathway Challenge: A test of perseverance and spatial awareness. The children navigated balls along taped courses, exploring movement and direction.

🌧️ “Rain in a Jar” Experiment: Bringing weather concepts to life. They loved watching water droplets fall through shaving cream “clouds”—perfect for building scientific vocabulary and curiosity.

It was a day filled with problem-solving, critical thinking, and a whole lot of discovery! ✨👇
