Year 2 and 3 students enjoyed a walk to the Parramatta River, exploring our local habitat as part of their Science learning for this term.
It was a fantastic opportunity to observe living things in their natural environment and deepen our understanding of the world around us.

End-of-year fun for everyone!
Last week, our Year 6 Mini Fete brought plenty of smiles and excitement, followed by an enjoyable Presentation Day. This week, we celebrated with a fantastic Celebration Day plus lots of other fun end-of-year activities. Today featured Year 6 taking on the teachers in a volleyball match, a farewell assembly, and the whole school lining up to clap them out through the gates. A wonderful way to finish the year and celebrate all the hard work and friendships made along the way!
We wish everyone an enjoyable and safe Christmas and holiday break and look forward to seeing students again on Monday 2nd February, 2026.

The Melrose Park Community Cup, supported by major sponsor Sekisui House Australia, was an absolute success. For our small school, it's our biggest fundraising event of the year.
There is a wonderful community spirit here in Melrose Park and the response this year from our school community has been extraordinary.
We also want to thank our school community, as well as community sponsors https://www.facebook.com/pupcarehub/ and https://www.facebook.com/macrotimbersupplies/
We look forward to next year's event.

Congratulations to Year 6 students, Hugo and Archer, who achieved 2nd place in the Beginner Soccer division at the Australian National Robocup Robotics Competition in Canberra!

Their team, Twinpwr, competed against five other teams, making it all the way to the finals. After a nail-biting 4–4 draw, the match went to golden goal, where the other team just edged ahead.

Both boys showed excellent teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the event and were praised by referees and observers for their positive attitude and enthusiasm. We are very proud of their outstanding effort and success at the national level!

Well done, boys — what an amazing achievement!

Earlier this week, our student robotics teams proudly represented our school at the NSW RoboCup competition. Seven teams from Years 4, 5, and 6 entered across three different events: Mighty Maze Rescue Maze, Simple Simon Soccer, and Novice OnStage.

Throughout Terms 2 and 3, students worked hard to refine their coding, problem-solving, and teamwork skills in preparation for the big day. Their effort, creativity, and perseverance were clearly on display, and all students are to be congratulated on their achievements and commitment to learning.

A special congratulations to two of our soccer teams: “Twinpwr”, who came 2nd in Soccer, and “Six Seven”, who received a Judges’ Acknowledgement Award for their robot's performance. Congratulations also to our Year 4 team, “A Mazzzed”, who came 3rd in Rescue Maze - an impressive result in their very first year of RoboCup!

This week marks National Science Week, but our celebrations kicked off during Education Week last week. The hall was full of excitement as visitors explored our science and STEM display. Year 6 students ran hands-on activities that were both fun and educational, while our Robotics Club entertained students with demonstrations.
It was wonderful to see so much curiosity, teamwork, and creativity on display!
Student are all in costume as we also celebrated Book Week by dressing as our favourite book character.

This week students in K-2 + our environment representatives attended an interesting workshop to learn how our school worm farms work. They discovered that worms are very good at turning our food waste in natural fertiliser and learnt which foods our worms should and shouldn’t eat.
