We have additional child care bookings available for next week, just in time for a very special celebration! On Thursday, September 10th, our entire community is coming together to support R U OK? Day.

To show our support for this important cause, we are asking all children and staff to wear yellow on the day. It’s a wonderful opportunity to teach our little ones about kindness, checking in on their friends, and building a supportive environment for everyone.

✨ Week 28 of our Aboriginal Corroboree Journey! ✨

Today, our centre gathered for our weekly Aboriginal Corroboree, beautifully led by Sakshi. We commenced our session with a respectful Acknowledgement of Country, paying our respects to the traditional custodians of the land.
In celebration of Indigenous Literacy Day, Sakshi spoke about the rich history of First Nations storytelling. The children then watched the Dreamtime story "Awesome Emu", exploring the cultural significance of the emu in Indigenous heritage and learning important lessons about humility.

Connecting culture with sustainability, the children then decorated their own emus using shredded recycled paper, sparking great conversations about caring for our environment.

🌿 VEYLDF Outcomes Met:
Outcome 1.4: Children interact with care, empathy, and respect through the Acknowledgement of Country.
Outcome 2.4: Children show respect for the environment by using recycled materials for sustainable art.
Outcome 5.1: Children engage with and gain meaning from the "Awesome Emu" text.

Celebrating 10 Wonderful Years with Eileen! 🌸

Today was filled with both happy and sad moments as we said goodbye to our amazing educator, Eileen. After 10 wonderful years with us, she is starting a new chapter.

We all gathered in the nursery room to celebrate her time here. The children gave Eileen big hugs and thanked her for always helping them learn and grow. As a team, we surprised her with some gifts to show how much we appreciate her hard work and dedication over the last decade.

Eileen, you have made such a big difference in so many lives. You will be missed so much by the children, families, and staff. We wish you all the very best for the future! 💛✨

Building Community: Our Weekly Buddy Program with Wattle Park Primary!

Today, we were thrilled to welcome the wonderful Year 5 students from Wattle Park Primary School for our weekly buddy program!
The older children did a fantastic job guiding and supporting our Kindergarten group through a variety of fun, collaborative activities.

We deeply value this meaningful partnership with our local community and love seeing the connections grow between the school children and our kinder learners every single week.

Developing these community bonds helps our children build confidence, social skills, and a smooth pathway for their future school years!

Little Green Hands, Big Sustainable Steps!

Our wonderful toddlers have been working hard to support sustainability through hands-on learning!

First, they celebrated the arrival of the new season with beautiful spring paintings, using completely sustainable resources. Then, our little gardeners showed off their green thumbs by growing fresh coriander right here in our garden beds! The best part? They harvested their homegrown herbs today and used them to help cook a delicious chicken biryani for lunch!

We are so proud of our children for learning how to care for our planet and connect with where our food comes from.

🌿 Celebrating Week 27 of Our Aboriginal Corroboree Program!

We reached a wonderful milestone today as Hetu led our 27th weekly Aboriginal Corroboree session, beginning with a respectful Acknowledgement of Country to ground our learning. This week, our focus turned to the iconic kookaburra, with the children sharing stories, exploring its cultural significance, and joyfully singing the Kookaburra song together.

Following the music, the children demonstrated incredible creativity by using real feathers and collected natural materials to decorate their own kookaburra artwork. This rich sensory experience beautifully aligns with VEYLDF Outcome 2 (Children are connected with and contribute to their world) as they deepen their connection to nature, community, and Aboriginal cultures, while also supporting VEYLDF Outcome 5 (Children are effective communicators) through collaborative song, storytelling, and creative self-expression.
