On May 16, AZYC partnered with NSW JBD and Central Synagogue to bring together young adults from across the community for a meaningful Tikkun Leil centred on the theme “כל ישראל ערבים זה בזה”- Kol Yisrael arevim zeh bazeh (All of Israel are responsible for one another).

The evening featured engaging discussions, shared learning, creative sessions, and meaningful opportunities for connection in a warm and welcoming environment.

Thank you to our incredible presenters- Abby Friderich, Bella Filipczyk, Noam Olovitz, Ezra Franklin, Adam Rothschild, and Ben Ezzes- and to everyone who joined us for a special night of community, learning, and conversation. 💙

AZYC Madrichim had the opportunity to attend two independent grant-writing and community sessions this month across NSW and VIC.

In NSW, Sydney Gizbarim (Treasurers) attended a session organised by JCA, where they learned from Brenda Kaplan from Jewish House about writing effective and impactful grant applications.

In VIC, Melbourne Mazkirim (Directors) and Gizbarim (Treasurers) attended the 2026 Community Grants Information Evening, organised by David Southwick, alongside the launch of the Volunteer Awards at Caulfield Park Bowls Club.

Both sessions provided valuable insight into grant writing, community funding, and strengthening local impact.

Representatives of 9 youth movements and organizations took part in an important discussion on antisemitism tonight, hosted by Glen Eira City Council.

It was especially meaningful to see such a multicultural dialogue, bringing together diverse voices, experiences, and perspectives to engage in an open and necessary conversation about antisemitism and its impact on our communities.

It is always powerful to hear young people speak- their ideas, their questions, and their lived experiences remind us why these conversations matter so deeply.

We thank Glen Eira City Council for creating this important platform and for supporting respectful and meaningful dialogue between communities.

The AZYC will continue to find meaningful opportunities and platforms for youth voices to be heard and for important conversations like these to continue.

AZYC chanichim and bogrim from Bnei Akiva, Hineni and Habonim Dror, as well as Diller Teen Fellows Australia, were invited to speak on a panel hosted by the Zionist Federation of Australia.

The panel was titled "Next Gen Lived Experience" and discussed what our chanichim and bogrim have been feeling living as Jews in Australia, particularly in the conversation leading up to the Royal Commission.

We thank ZFA for hosting this panel and encourage further talks between our youth movements and other communal organisations.
