Because let’s be honest… working in early childhood already feels a little like a carnival some days! 🎪🤣

Our educators do so much more than care for children. They nurture, comfort, encourage, teach, listen, inspire, support, guide and celebrate every little achievement. They wipe tears, share giggles, answer endless questions, join in the messy play, dance like nobody is watching, build towers, read stories for the hundredth time and create those special moments our children will remember. ❤️

🍎🥕 KOG FOOD SWAP & SHARE 🌿💚

We’re excited to introduce our new KOG Food Swap & Share
A simple initiative bringing our KOG families together while encouraging sharing, sustainability, healthy choices and reducing food waste. 🌏💕

How does it work?

🥕 TAKE – Take one item from the Food Swap table.
🍎 BRING – Bring something from home to share with others.
🌿 SHARE – Place your item on the table for another family to enjoy.
💚 CONNECT – Together, we can reduce waste and build our community.

Families might like to bring fruit or vegetables, herbs or seedlings, jars of preserves, dried fruit, seeds, popcorn or another simple, healthy item to share.

✨ One small swap can make a big difference!

This initiative provides meaningful opportunities for children to see sustainability in action, learning that food can be shared, valued and enjoyed rather than wasted. It also supports children to develop a sense of connection, contribution and responsibility within their community. 🌱

🌱 Learning & Framework Connections

Our Food Swap & Share connects beautifully with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), particularly:

🌿 Outcome 2 – Connection: Children develop a sense of belonging and contribute to their community and world.
🍎 Outcome 3 – Wellbeing: Children develop an understanding of healthy choices and wellbeing.
🌱 Outcome 4 – Learning: Children investigate, explore and develop an understanding of sustainability and caring for the environment.

📚✨ AND THAT’S A WRAP ON BOOK WEEK 2026! ✨📚

What an AMAZING week we’ve had at Kids on Gallaghers! 💛

From Toy Story characters and superheroes 🦸‍♀️, to princesses 👑, builders, animals 🐻 and so many wonderfully creative ideas, our centre was bursting with imagination, creativity and a whole lot of fun!

But Book Week is about so much more than dressing up… it’s about creating a love of stories, building language and communication, sparking imagination and giving children opportunities to express themselves, connect with others and share their ideas. 📖💭

This week we’ve seen children become storytellers, characters, creators and listeners. Sharing books with friends, educators and families and bringing their favourite stories to life. ❤️

🌟 VEYLDF CONNECTIONS:
📚 Outcome 5 – Communication: Children engage with a range of texts and gain meaning from these experiences.
🎨 Outcome 4 – Learning: Children use imagination, creativity and play to explore ideas and represent their learning.
