🌍✨ Journey to Africa! 🥁🐘
Our children set off on an exciting musical adventure to Africa with Lamine! Through music, movement, and hands-on sensory fun, the children explored the rich sounds and rhythms of African culture.
They were introduced to unique traditional instruments like the kalimba (thumb piano), djembe hand drum, and caxixi shaker, discovering how each one creates its own special sound. The children listened closely as they recreated the sounds of rain and wind, then jumped in with enthusiasm—dancing, drumming, and moving to the beat!
Along the way, they also learned about fascinating African animals, chatting about their features and habitats while building their language and listening skills. Using the caxixi shaker, the children practised balance and coordination, strengthening their body control, focus, and confidence.
It was a joyful session full of rhythm, learning, and creativity—what an amazing journey!

Our centre was delighted to take part in the Sea of Hearts movement for the third year in a row!
Each beautiful heart was lovingly created by our families, children, and the wider community—making this project truly special.
Together, we embraced the theme “All In,” walking side by side on a shared journey towards reconciliation. Through respect, understanding, and compassion, we continue learning the importance of connection and unity.

For the commencement of Reconciliation Week our children took part in an education session with Ronan from
Through a lively mix of music, movement, storytelling, and hands-on activities, the children explored Aboriginal culture in a way that was both fun and meaningful. They had the chance to discover traditional instruments like clap sticks and the didgeridoo (Yidaki), listening carefully to the different sounds and rhythms. With plenty of enthusiasm, they experimented with short and long breaths to create their own music!
The room was full of energy as the children joined in animal movement dances—hopping like kangaroos, strutting like emus, and climbing like koalas—while learning about animal habitats and their connection to Country. Ronan also introduced the children to natural materials such as ochre, charcoal, and rocks, explaining how these were used to create beautiful artworks and play an important role in cultural traditions.
The children were curious, engaged, and full of thoughtful questions throughout the experience, showing a genuine excitement for learning.
This wonderful education session not only brought learning to life but also helped deepen the children’s understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures. It supported the development of respect, curiosity, creativity, listening skills, and a growing connection to community and Country—all while having lots of fun along the way! 🌿✨

This week, as part of our Autumn Leaves learning experience, the children set off on a fun neighbourhood adventure! 🍂🍁
Together, we explored our local community, collecting beautiful autumn leaves in all sorts of colours, shapes, and textures—there was so much to discover!
Along the way, we practised important road safety skills, such as stopping and looking carefully before crossing, staying together as a group, listening to our educators, and being aware of what’s happening around us.
Our leaf hunt also turned into an exciting nature exploration! The children spotted tiny ants busily moving near the leaves and were fascinated watching them up close. This sparked wonderful conversations about insects and the natural world, turning a simple walk into a rich and engaging learning experience.

🌺 Lest We Forget 🌺
Today, we pause to honour and remember the brave men and women who served and sacrificed for our country. On ANZAC Day, we reflect on their courage, mateship, and resilience — values that continue to shape who we are today.
ANZAC Day can feel like a complex concept for young children. But in early childhood it's not about explaining everything, instead its about creating a space for simple and meaningful understanding. Through connection, storytelling, and gentle conversations, we help children begin to understand ideas like care, compassion, community and rememberence.
Always age appropriate, always respectful.
❤️ We will remember them. ❤️

♻️ Recycle Man Saves the Day! ♻️
Our children were buzzing with excitement today as we welcomed a very special guest — Recycle Man! 🦸♂️🌍
Through a fun, interactive session, Recycle Man helped the children explore why recycling is so important and how we can all help look after our beautiful planet. The children learned about different types of waste, how to sort items correctly, and what materials can be recycled in our everyday lives.
With hands-on games, colourful recycling bins, and lots of enthusiastic participation, the children were fully engaged — identifying colours, sorting items, and proudly sharing their new knowledge.
This experience supported children’s understanding of sustainability, environmental responsibility, and how even small actions can make a big difference.
🌱 We are so proud to see our children becoming little environmental heroes and caring for our planet! 🌱
