It has nearly been 3-years since our youngest was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. There are not enough words to describe the waves of emotions you feel when you hear "Your baby has Cystic Fibrosis." Once our news somehow sank in, we prepared ourselves to notify our dearest family and friends. Time seemed to stand still. Every hour felt heavy, every phone call was exhausted with explaining that "we will be fine, everything was going to be okay." Did we really know everything was going to be fine? Not at all. We couldn't even imagine what tomorrow would bring let alone weeks, months, years ahead. But we refused to think any other way. We spent many hours reading, researching and connecting with amazing people around the world with CF or supporting those with it, the main thing that stood out to us was - resilience. Not giving up. Our family took on the fight for CF as a TEAM. Not to fear it but to FIGHT it. Every single day. Together. The daunting waves we once felt soon became easier to ride. When new medication or physio was introduced even our young children learnt and adapted to the updated routine. Clinic appointments were shared together. we planned for the new steps in our day to be carried out as a TEAM. Our little one is nearly 3 and has taught us that strength & determination does not come with age or life lessons but with the support and guidance that surrounds you. We have overcome hurdles TOGETHER. We have taken on the victories in each day no matter how big or small, and let them carry us through to the next day. We don't know what tomorrow brings, but we do know as a family we will fight together, CF will not be a single member fighting but a team. I share this for those in the early days of a diagnosis. Parents, grandparents, family & friends. Support is what makes heavy moments feel lighter, for days to seem less isolating. Most importantly as the days pass your little one will continue to remind you how unstoppable they are. They will teach you that even the smallest one of all can be the biggest fighter. Thank you CFCC for the support you have provided our family. It continues to pave a path for all the days ahead. ❤️️
