A Special Visit from Yarraman Oaks Primary School!

Today, we were so excited to welcome Ms Lisa from Yarraman Oaks Primary School to our centre!

Ms Lisa spent some lovely time with the children, sharing about big school adventures, making new friends, and all the exciting things they can look forward to when they begin their school journey.

The fun continued with the much-loved story “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! The children listened, joined in with the story, and had lots of fun putting the story events in the correct sequence.

Through storytelling, conversation and play, the children were building their confidence, communication and early literacy skills while having lots of fun!

A huge THANK YOU, Ms Lisa, for visiting us and making the day so special! We loved having you here!

📚✨ What an incredible Book Week celebration! ✨📚

Our children enjoyed a wonderful week of stories, creativity, and imagination as we celebrated the magic of books together.

Nursery explored Five Little Ducks
Toddlers enjoyed Where is the Green Sheep?
Kinder 1 celebrated diversity and identity through Me and My Culture
Kinder 2 had lots of fun discovering Edward the Emu

A special thank you to our families who joined us throughout the week to read stories with the children. Your involvement helped make our Book Week celebrations even more meaningful and memorable. ❤️

The highlight of the week was our amazing Book Week Parade, where children proudly dressed up as their favourite characters and shared their love of books with friends, families, and educators. The creativity and excitement on display were truly wonderful to see!

Thank you to everyone who helped make Book Week such a fantastic celebration of reading, learning, and imagination.

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

💛 Sometimes the best learning resource is the one you already have at home.

From Dental Week to everyday smiles!

We kicked off Dental Week with fun, child-friendly learning about healthy teeth and created our very own Dental Week Promises. Throughout the month, we kept the conversation going building healthy habits around brushing, healthy food choices and caring for our smiles.

And with our Colgate Australia and New Zealand dental care packs going home, the learning continued with families too!

Little promises today, healthy smiles for life!

Learning Through Play, Connection & Puppets!

Last Saturday, our team had the wonderful opportunity to take part in an engaging training session with Lucia Smith from Puppets for Learning.

We explored how to use puppets in meaningful ways to support children’s social and emotional skills, build connections, and create engaging learning experiences.

It was an inspiring and interactive session, and our teachers and educators came away with lots of new ideas, practical strategies, and enthusiasm to bring puppet-based learning into their practice!

A big thank you to Lucia for sharing her knowledge and making the session so enjoyable and meaningful.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Lachlan and Eden from the Essendon AFL Club's Bomber Kids incursion to our centre!

This exciting AFL-themed experience provided a fun, hands-on, and engaging way to support the children's physical, social, and emotional development.

It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, active, and enjoying every moment! ❤️🖤
