I tried really hard to hold off on giving my kids their own iPads.
As a mum of three young kids, I completely understand why parents do it. There are days when you just need **20 minutes of quiet**. Then there are long car trips, waiting rooms, restaurants, appointments… and sometimes you just need something that will keep little minds occupied.
But I also knew that once the screens became the easy option, it would be very hard to go backwards.
So I kept looking for something else.
Something they would **actually want to use**.
Not another workbook I had to sit beside them and explain.
Not a toy they would play with twice and forget about.
And definitely not something else that needed charging, Wi-Fi, an account or an app.
Then I found **LOGICO**.
And this is the closest thing I’ve found to giving kids that satisfying, interactive feeling they love about a device… **without actually giving them a screen.**
They choose an activity card, slide it into the board, work out the answers and physically move the coloured buttons into place.
Then comes their favourite part.
They flip the card over and **check the answers themselves**.
No sound effects.
No flashing lights.
No endless scrolling.
Just that little moment of:
**“Mum! I got it right!”**
And then they want to do the next one.
That’s what surprised me most.
I didn’t have to convince them it was “learning”.
To them, it feels like a challenge. A puzzle. Something they can figure out independently.
And as they’ve grown, the activities have grown with them too.
We started with simple matching, colours, shapes and numbers, and there are activities that move into things like **maths, logical thinking, sequencing, geometry, problem solving and even early coding concepts.**
So instead of needing a completely new toy every few months, you keep the LOGICO board and simply change the learning cards.
And for us, it’s been an absolute winner for the car.
Long drive ahead?
LOGICO.
Weekend away?
LOGICO.
Waiting somewhere with bored kids?
LOGICO.
There’s **nothing to charge, no Wi-Fi needed and no battery to run flat halfway through the trip.**
Just the board, a few cards and busy little minds.
I know there’s a time and place for technology. My kids will grow up surrounded by it.
But while they’re little, I want them to have as many opportunities as possible to **touch things, move things, solve problems, make mistakes, try again and discover that they can work something out for themselves.**
That’s why I love this so much.
It isn’t really about taking something away from them.
It’s about giving them **something better to reach for.** 💚
If you’re also trying to hold off on the iPad stage — or you’re simply looking for something genuinely engaging to replace a little screen time — have a look at **LOGICO**.
There are two levels:
💙 **LOGICO Primo — approx. ages 3–6**
💚 **LOGICO Piccolo — approx. ages 5–10**
And once you see how it works, you’ll understand why I got so excited about it.
