🍓🍍 A wonderful day of learning at Camberwell Market! 🍊🌼

Our pre-kinder children had an amazing time on their excursion to the Market MUNCHkins program, led by the wonderful Amanda. Through hands-on experiences, the children created their own colourful fruit pizzas using a variety of fresh, healthy ingredients while exploring different fruits and vegetables through meaningful conversations and sensory learning.

The fun continued with a creative colouring experience before we explored the vibrant Camberwell Market together. We visited the fruit shop, florist and nut shop, where the children discovered a range of fresh produce, beautiful flowers and local goods, sparking curiosity and building real-world connections.

Excursions like these provide rich opportunities for children to develop confidence, independence and an appreciation for healthy eating while strengthening their understanding of the community around them. 🌱💚

A big thank you to Amanda and the Market MUNCHkins team for such an engaging and memorable experience. We can't wait for our next visit! 🍎✨

😊🎉 Happy World Emoji Day! 🎉😊

Our children had so much fun celebrating World Emoji Day by creating their own emoji faces using healthy ingredients such as rice cakes, strawberries, blueberries and raisins! 🍓🫐🍇 From happy 😊 and sad 😢 to excited 🤩 and surprised 😲, each creation sparked wonderful conversations about feelings, facial expressions and emotions.

Experiences like these are about so much more than being creative. As children carefully selected and placed each piece of fruit, they strengthened their fine motor skills, explored healthy food choices, developed problem-solving skills and, most importantly, built their emotional literacy by recognising, naming and expressing different emotions.

Through hands-on, play-based experiences, children learn to understand their own feelings while developing empathy for others—an important foundation for positive relationships and wellbeing.

Outcome 1: Children develop a strong sense of identity as they recognise and express their emotions.
Outcome 3: Children develop a strong sense of wellbeing through emotional awareness and healthy food experiences.
Outcome 4: Children become confident and involved learners as they explore, create and solve problems.
Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators as they share ideas, describe emotions and engage in meaningful conversations.

Learning through play is always something to smile about! 😊💙

Last week, our centre proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week, taking time to honour and recognise the rich history, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples ❤️🖤💛

Throughout the week, our children engaged in meaningful experiences that encouraged curiosity, respect and a deeper appreciation for Australia's First Nations cultures. From storytelling and creative art experiences to music, yarning and exploring Indigenous symbols and traditions, every activity sparked important conversations about belonging, connection and caring for Country.

At our centre, we believe that fostering respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures from an early age helps children develop empathy, understanding and a strong sense of community.

A heartfelt thank you to our educators for creating thoughtful learning experiences that inspire our children to celebrate diversity and embrace the stories that have shaped our nation.

Happy NAIDOC Week! Together, we continue learning, listening and walking forward with respect. 🌿

Building Stronger Connections with Our Local School Community 💙

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Camberwell Primary School as our School of Choice, creating a wonderful opportunity for our children to build meaningful connections and develop a strong sense of belonging within their local school community.

Through this partnership, our children will have the opportunity to participate in a range of exciting experiences with Camberwell Primary, including attending Junior School Assemblies, joining reading programs, taking part in a buddy system, and engaging in many more collaborative experiences throughout the year.

These experiences will support our children’s confidence, social skills, curiosity, and readiness for their transition into school. By building relationships with educators, students, and the wider school community, we aim to make the journey from early learning to primary school a positive, familiar, and exciting experience for every child.

We look forward to creating many special memories together and strengthening the connection between our service, our families, and Camberwell Primary School. 🌟

Thank you to our families for being part of this exciting journey with us!

Our Nursery, Toddler, and Kinder children had an amazing hands-on incursion learning all about fire safety, firefighters’ gear, and what to do in an emergency. The highlight was definitely exploring the fire truck and meeting real-life heroes who keep our community safe.

Big smiles, lots of curious questions, and important learning all around ❤️👶👧🧒

🎵 Musical Minds Incursion 🎵

Our children had a wonderful time participating in the Musical Minds incursion, where music became a tool for learning, creativity, and connection.

Through singing, movement, rhythm, and interactive musical experiences, the children explored new sounds, developed their listening skills, and expressed themselves with confidence. Music supports many areas of early childhood development, including language and communication, memory, coordination, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.

Experiences like this encourage children to work together, follow patterns and instructions, solve problems creatively, and build self-confidence in a fun and engaging environment. Most importantly, they remind us that learning happens best when children are actively involved and enjoying the experience.

We loved seeing the smiles, laughter, and enthusiasm as our little learners discovered the joy of music while developing valuable lifelong skills. 🎶💛
