Irish Coffee ☘️
The story goes, that the drink was invented on a dark and stormy night on the west coast of Ireland in 1943.
At the time Foynes Flying Boat terminal was a key stop-off destination between Europe and the United States, and a Pan Am flight headed to New York had to turn around because of the bad weather.
Joe Sheridan was a cook at the Foynes terminal at the time, and put the drink together to keep the New Yorkers warm and awake. Having been asked whether it was a Brazilian Coffee, Sheridan responded that it's Irish Coffee! Coffee with Irish whiskey, sugar and cream for the American palate.
