We provide support, material aid and socially inclusive activities to a diverse range of community members many of whom are disadvantaged, isolated or marginalized due to family dysfunction, family violence, infirmity, disability, homelessness, mental illness or the long-term effects of drug or alcohol use. Our main goal is to bridge the gap between the community and the government services, provide a point of connection aimed at reducing isolation, promoting inclusion, integration and fostering mutually beneficial relationships amongst those who attend and offering pathways to involvement with the wider community. Our dynamic, committed, and dedicated team comprises people who live and breathe community. Our team have overwhelmingly been drawn to Bakhtar Community Organisation by the opportunity it gives them to use their networks, experiences, and skills for good. Many have been with the organisation since the start or have left and come back. Why are we here
Our passionate team works to build stronger communities through preventative initiatives, address the root causes of social disharmony, and prevent any form of violence, harmful, and abusive behavior in the community. We've discovered over the years that there are many routes to that destination, and we're creating change as we investigate which are the best ones to pursue. Since our inception, our dynamic and committed team has successfully achieved to bring all Afghan ethnicities under one roof. We have over 1000 members comprised of all ethnicities and backgrounds. Today, not only every single Afghan ethnicity see themselves in Bakhtar, but also the wider community have benefited.
