Thursday Art 🐔🎨🖌️

Today we welcomed a new friend who joined the Thursday session.
We had a discussion about what features chicken have. We used our knowledge and commenced drawing with explicit instructions. Once we got the idea of how to draw the chickens we were able to use our imagination to draw them independently. They are all looking fabulous. 🐔🐓🐥🤩

Monday Art - Kooky Chickens 🐓🐔🐤🐥

Today our Monday afternoon group painted our Kooky Chickens with watercolours. We completed our outlining with crayons and then used the colour resist technique by adding watercolour paints. The watercolour paint is repelled by the wax crayons forming a waxy barrier making our kooky chickens really stand out! 🐔🐓🐤🐥

Thursday Art🎨🖌️
Thursday group completed the single point perspective seasons mixed media. We mixed our primary colours to achieve the desired secondary colours. A wonderful result was achieved by all participants.

Thursday’s group continued working on our pine forest perspective. We created the trees with a graphite pencil to help guide us when painting.

Black acrylic paint was used for our trees this helped create the illusion of the trees reaching the sky. We carefully looked at how to paint our branches alternating brushes to achieve the desired finish. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Today our Monday afternoon group painted summer leaves, autumn leaves, winter snow and spring blossoms onto our tree scenes.
We started with white for the winter snow and then used the primary colours, blue, red and yellow to mix our own autumn oranges, spring blossom pinks and summer greens. What a great job our young artists have done mixing their own colours! 🤩🌿🍁☃️🌸

Thursday afternoon Art🎨🖌️
The Thursday group finished off our winter cats and commenced our seasons pine forest perspective. The students started with an organic shape in the centre of their page. We then used a ruler to line up diagonal line from each corner to the organic shape. Once we completed that we started painting winter and autumn colours to fill the four sections. We used complementary colours, red , orange, blue, green.

We can’t wait to see how these mixed media paintings turn out.

Today our Monday afternoon group used black acrylic paint to paint tree silhouettes onto the watercolour season backgrounds that we made last week. We were thinking about perspective and imagining that we were looking up at the sky through the trees. We made our trees bigger at the bottom and smaller at the top as they got closer to the sky. ☀️🍁❄️🌸

😸🎨🖌️The Thursday group are well on the way to completing their winter cats. We experimented with adding water to our backgrounds and then putting water colour paint onto the wet area to create a blended background using colours that would compliment the colours of our cats.
