Impasse and ending: To stay or to go? 28/07/2026

Have you ever left a therapy session feeling as though nothing had shifted?

Most therapists know what it's like to encounter an impasse. The work seems to stall. The same conversations repeat. Both therapist and client can begin to feel stuck.

But what if impasse isn't something to overcome?

In Gestalt therapy, these moments often hold some of the richest possibilities for awareness, contact and change.

Join Tom Trikojus and Nicole Van Os for Impasse and Ending, a practical workshop exploring how to work creatively with therapeutic impasses, endings, grief and relationship transitions.

The Heat Between Us | Relational Change 22/07/2026

The Heat Between Us | Relational Change Living and travelling across the UK and Europe over the past month, I found myself planning each day around the heat. Closing the blinds before leaving the house. Opening windows late in the evening. Making sure there was always cold water in the fridge.

14/07/2026

Some moments in therapy resist easy answers.
A client who can't decide whether to stay or leave a relationship.
A couple caught in the same painful pattern.
Someone grieving an ending while still hoping things might be different.
These moments can leave therapists feeling stuck too.
Impasse and Ending explores how Gestalt therapy helps us work with these challenging thresholds—not by rushing towards solutions, but by staying with complexity and trusting what can emerge when we don't move too quickly.
Through teaching, clinical discussion and experiential exercises, Tom Trikojus and Nicole van Os will share practical wisdom drawn from many years of working with individuals and couples.
If you work therapeutically with relationships, grief or major life transitions, we'd love you to join us.

Reimagining Gestalt therapy in an age of AI 13/07/2026

AI is changing the world around us and psychotherapy is no exception.

VAGP is hosting an interactive evening on this very question: Reimagining Gestalt therapy in an age of AI, with Rhys Price-Robertson and Lina Patel, on Monday 20 July. Together they'll explore how AI may influence psychotherapy, where it might (or might not) belong in clinical practice, and how Gestalt therapy can respond to a fast-changing landscape.
