Give yourself the gift of learning in 2024! 🎁
Elevate your leadership capabilities by engaging in NIODA's experiential postgraduate qualification. Weekly online (live and interactive) classroom activities provide safe, yet appropriately challenging, learning environments for you to dig deep. Opening and holding a space for students to explore things that do not get airtime in the workplace often has profound impacts. Digging beneath the surface allows the root causes of issues to come to light and be worked with.
You, and your fellow students, will gain the skills to:
🌊 Analyse, understand and manage ‘below the surface’ group and organisational dynamics
🔍 Identify blockers to change stemming from structures, culture, and/or technology
🚀 Navigate the emotional labour of leading complex systems in fast-changing environments
🛠️ You won’t just learn ‘about’ these skills, you will practise them, both individually and with others, in class and through the preparation of assessment pieces that are purposefully connected to real life work issues and dilemmas.

Traditional leadership training can only offer so much when you experience the real challenges of leading: organisational issues, pushback from colleagues, problems that just won’t shift no matter what you do, and difficult dynamics between staff. Most of the time you know what to do as a leader, but there are times when you feel ‘stuck’ and can’t work out why an issue seems to have emerged from nowhere.
Read about the experience Trish had with NIODA's Coaching for Leadership program, and how it helped her helped her take up her authority in the role of CEO of a NFP support service organisation.

"Organisations with structures and cultures that seem to perpetuate cycles of dysfunction and distress is something we hear about in our work at NIODA. Even as successive leaders and staff churn through, incidents of workplace bullying, toxic work environment, or ineffective leadership seem to recur. Re-structures and culture change efforts have little appreciable effect. Indeed, sometimes they have created more challenges..." Read more on the latest blog post from Helen McKelvie

Congratulations to our 2022 Master of Leadership and Management (Organisation Dynamics) graduates 🎉. Our graduates have gained lifelong friends and colleagues and now walk through life with a new set of systems psychodynamic 'goggles', enabling them to see and understand group dynamics in a way that few others can. They have gained a deep understanding of the interplay between individuals, groups, organisations, and society, and can apply this knowledge to create positive change in their communities and workplaces.
It is no easy feat to complete a master's degree, let alone while working and juggling family responsibilities. We are very proud of this cohort who managed all that while also facing the pandemic and all the disruption that accompanied it.
Congratulations to each and every one of you for your hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Your commitment to your education and personal growth is inspiring, and we have no doubt that your new skills and knowledge will serve you well as you move forward in your careers and personal lives. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours and we are proud to call you graduates of the NIODA Master of Leadership and Management (Organisation Dynamics).
