Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)

Investment NSW will conduct a Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) invitation round in the week commencing 13 April 2026.

To ensure invitations are issued based on the most current information available, we would like to remind applicants and migration professionals to ensure Expression of Interest (EOIs) in SkillSelect are up to date by COB Sunday, 12 April 2026.

Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491) - Pathway 2

An invitation round for Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491) Pathway 2 will follow in the week commencing 27 April 2026.

To ensure invitations are issued based on the most current information available, we would like to remind applicants and migration professionals to ensure Expression of Interest (EOIs) in SkillSelect are up to date by COB Sunday, 26 April 2026.

Please note that invitation rounds are highly competitive and only occupations on the NSW Skills Lists are eligible for an invitation.

📌 Real Case Story – Important Lesson for Student Visa Holders

We are sharing this real case (with all personal details hidden) purely to educate students and families about the importance of complying with student visa conditions.

🟢 Visa Grant
In this case, the student was successfully granted a Student (Subclass 500) visa on 4 November 2024.

🟠 What happened later
After the visa grant:

The student did not maintain enrolment in a registered course

COEs were cancelled by education providers

The student departed Australia

While the student was outside Australia, the Department of Home Affairs reviewed the case

🔴 Visa Cancellation
The Department cancelled the student visa under section 128 of the Migration Act 1958, because the student was no longer enrolled, which is a breach of student visa condition 8202.

📌 Important clarification

The visa was not cancelled due to any migration agent action

The visa was cancelled because visa conditions were not complied with

Once a visa is granted, maintaining enrolment and compliance is the student’s legal responsibility

💼 About post-grant advice
After the cancellation, the student requested free advice.

Post-grant advice, including reviewing or explaining a visa cancellation decision, is a separate paid professional service
